Please don't do that. Senator Webb continues to make courageous moves, that are not politcally motivated, to support our troops. He was a soldier himself and his son is serving. He has a personal stake in this, unlike so many of us. Mrs. Clinton simply agreed to sign on to the legislation and to support it. As webb said tonight on harball, this move on clintons part was to counteract her mistake on Kyl Lieberman.

He would, however, not turn away any support. Mrs. Clinton does have a political machine behind her and she can do a lot to try and get the measure passed. It admittedly has a hard uphill climb, unfortunately.

It is NOT Mrs. Clinton's legislation though so please, give credit where credit is due.

1. Good point - She's only co-sponsoring Sen Webbs March 5th resolution S. 759, which
prohibits the use of funds for military operations against Iran without explicit Congressional authorization.

2. That's right...she did not draft the resolution.

And she is clearly attempting to correct her vote on Kyl/Lieberman which is knows that in hindsight, was a mistake.

13. Since when did cosponsorship become the same as claiming credit?

3. Sen. Webb is right with this. He has not been right about wiretapping, though.

4. WHERE are the post saying it was her idea..
ALL THOSE I READ say she co-sponsored. AND she made an announcement on TV today....saying she co-sponsored "Senator Webbs" bill. I think that tells the story...no way is she taking credit. Again the Hillary bashing machine takes over.

7. Have you seen the text of Kyl-Lieberman? I still can't find it.
If you have it, I sure would like to see it.

8. Maybe this is it:
http://irannuclearwatch.blogspot.com/2007/09/revised-lieberman-kyl-amendment.html

Still no "official" release that I can find.

This looks like it would be the offending statement:

(3) that it should be the policy of the United States to stop inside Iraq the violent activities and destabilizing influence of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran, its foreign facilitators such as Lebanese Hezbollah, and its indigenous Iraqi proxies.

10. That's not the "offending" statement
It was about classifying parts of the Iranian military as "terrorist organizations"

12. You are absolutely correct.
She just sent Bill and Dodd out to pummel Obama on a carefully excised quote by Obama; see my sig line.

Except to see more, um, "truthiness" like this from her political machine in the future.

14. Opponents might well say that "Hillary was FOR invading Iran before she was AGAINST it."
