1. Too bad he's just on cable. I stopped paying for it.
I wish they were on over the air broadcast TV. Jon Stewart and Colbert should expand their horizons.

3. I don't know if this will help, but I found this website that has all the Comedy Central videos...
...and it turns out that it's owned by Viacom (Comedy Central's parent company) so it's all legal!

The video should be there in a few hours

14. Colbert often talks about the "Colbert Bump"
Supposedly, after Paul and Huckabee came on his show, they got a small "bump" in the polls. Not too sure how accurate that is, but i wouldn't doubt it.

16. Opportunity is knocking.
I do hope Dennis takes advantage of this opportunity to "empty his pockets" on national tee-vee.

4. Excellent opportunity for Kucinich!!!
Have you noticed that all the late-nite talk shows have had DK on lately? Most of them want to talk about how he landed his wife, but at least he's getting a forum & exposure of his ideas ...for freeeeee!

Go for it, DK!:bounce:

5. Even if they poke fun at him, its national advertisement for his message!
I hope it gets around to Dennis Kucinich and he actually got a chance to get on there. At least he would answer questions directly unlike most others.

8. You can watch highlights from recent shows at comedycentral.com
You can watch videos from recent editions of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report.

It's all completely legal and they even make you watch short commercials.

I guess it all helps their ratings and helps keep these shows afloat financially.

Bookmark it today: www.comedycentral.com B-)

...I just found this site (also owned my Viacom) and it works on the YouTube/Flash model.

10. On notice for what?
I'd ask "Who is Steven Colbert and what is 'The Report,'" but I don't really want to know about somebody's tv show, lol. Why is Colbert interested in his pockets?

I'll check the Kucinich site, and try to find the show if DK shows up.

12. For always having stuff in his pockets to pull out like...
...his favorite prayer, The Pocket size U.S. Constitution, a used Green Tea bag...

Are you serious that you don't know who Stephen Colbert is?

Here's the link to video to his show: <http://www.ifilm.com/show/17677>

Just in case you really don't know, "The Colbert Report" is a spin off of "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" (both on Comedy Central). "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" is a parody News show, where they regularly point out the absurdity of the so-called "real news" (Fox, CNN, MSNBC), but they usually end up reporting more actual news that the "real news" does.

Stephen Colbert was a "reporter" for "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" until October 2005, when he was spun off to start "The Colbert Report," where he plays a willfully ignorant and angry, very judgmental RW Conservative (basically a straight up parody of Bill O’Reilly of Fox "news"). It's not as popular as "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," but it does have it's devoted fans too.

Here's the link to the videos for "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart":<http://www.ifilm.com/show/17676>

18. The reason Colbert isn't as popular
Is he is horrible doing interviews, especially with a Liberal. I'll admit, sometimes he is funny as hell with them and he really DOES seem to mimmick the right wing MO, but when he has a great person in there I want to hear that person talk.

Other than the interviews, the rest of Cobert is fantastic.

19. Yeah...I have to agree about the interviews....
I know his show is listed as satire, but I sure would like to hear some of his guests. That has to be frustrating for them not to even get to make their points.

That being said...I DO hope Dennis makes an appearance.....but that also Colbert lets him get two words in edgewise.

20. I've seen the daily show, although rarely since Jon Stewart came on.
My ex was a fan of the daily show, and it was on regularly with Craig Kilborn.

I really don't know who Steven Colbert is, outside of a name read on DU frequently. Thanks for the info, though.

I can see the "pocket" reference for DK. :D

21. Oh, then you might remember Stephen Colbert as "The New Guy" on The (Kilborn) Daily Show...
He was the only "reporter" who crossed over from The Daily Show (with Craig Kilborn) to The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Believe me, I remember feeling the same way about Jon Stewart when he replaced Craig Kilborn, but I finally started watching again after about a year or so and was glad I did, because it got much better, especially in the year 2000 and the Indecision 2000 campaign.

It lost a little bit of it's edge this year though, when Jon's long time producer Ben left, but it's still the best political show on American Television today.

22. I appreciate Jon Stewart.
My watching habits changed when I divorced; I stopped staying up after bedtime, lol. I don't watch much tv anyway, and get up at 4am. I just don't have much evening time in front of the tv.

11. Maybe SC will give him a new green tea bag
so he doesnt have to use the same one more than once.

Who knows, this could bump up his polls to 3%!!

15. I bet Colbert won't be able to resist a Tolkien quote -- "what has it got in its pocketses?"

And yes, Up2Late -- I would like one of those miniature "On Notice" boards. I would like to have one over my desk so I could put Office Admin on notice (they declined a simple photocopying request, after chewing me out for having too high a bill last time ... this wouldn't have been a problem if they hadn't increased my class size from 40 to 70).
