I'm switching to Kucinich
Yesterday I proudly voted for Howard Dean and I did so for a variety of reasons. First, standing up to Bush. Second, his stand on the war, Third, His honesty and integrity as a candidate, Fourth, His domestic record. I will never renounce that vote. It feels as good today as it did yesterday.

He has now suspended his campaign. But the campaign continues as do the things which Howard Dean stood for: changing the Democratic party to make it a real opposition party to George W. Bush and opposing an immoral war.

We have two candidates I can support who are still in the race and who also would fundamentally change the party and oppose the war. One is Al Sharpton, who has distinguised himself in the debates this year and has risen in my estimation. The second candidate is Dennis Kucinich. He took a stand against the war and opposed it in the congress of the US when the resolution came up for vote. The thing Kucinich has going for him which Rev. Sharpton doesn't (and it is a factor for me) is that Dennis Kucinich has experience as a Mayor, state legislator, and now US Congressman. Experience does count with me when someone is running for president.

I wish Dr. Dean had continued with his race. I still think he could have raised more than enough money from the grass roots to travel to key states and get his message out and win delegates, but it was a personal choice he had to make and I respect his decision. But we do need to keep the heat on the two front-runners: Kerry and Edwards on the war and in changing the party--so that it represents true core Democratic principles. Without Dr. Dean in the race for me the best alternative is Dennis Kucinich. I have already proudly voted for Dean, but I can still contribute to DK and help in other ways--as well as support a continuation of the movement which Howard Dean began.

2. You know
You've had the best post in here by far today. I've cast my vote for Dean, he's out but Dennis is still in.

6. You are so right.
I have an extra $30 over and above my current commitment to DK before reaching my predetermined contribution limit. I may commit that money now if I see a significant move of Dean folks to DK.

7. thank you and YES!
I'm very sorry Dean dropped out, I feel truly sad for everyone who put thier faith and hope in him. I could cry ,though I have always suppported Kucinich. It's a sad day and I don't think he should have dropped out.

9. The warmest possible welcome to you, WI_DEM !
DK certainly represents the kind of steadfast commitment to real, pro-populo change that you found and admired in Dean.
