wouldn't likely change it for that

But I don't think I'm wrong on this one either. Hilary is not the Big Dog and never will be. Her medical plan was shot down in flames and would be again. She is not a catalyst for change, merely status quo.

Not likely to draw Dem voters to the polls as well as the RATpublican fear of Hilary well.

32. This will seriously BackFire on you
The same hatered for Hilary will bleed over to all Dem candidates and can change the majority share of the House and Senate.

The housing bubble has not fully burst yet. Fuel prices are going to climb as more and more countries divest theirselves of the US dollar. Congessional Dems are going to be blamed for all of this.

What you expect a "Fair and Balanced" media?

There is a reason the RightWing talking heads are pushing Hilary and the reason is they know they can take down the ENTIRE democratic majority

40. and when it comes down to the general election... the Blue Dog Democrats will vote for Giuliani.
Edited on Sun Sep-30-07 02:24 PM by Danieljay
Sad, but I think true. Its the same people who voted for Bush in 2000 (like my father-in-law) A lifetime union worker who didn't want a president that seemed "smarter than he was". You really think that type of person will vote for a woman? I don't.

I honest to God hope I'm wrong. I dont support Hillary, I don't trust Hillary, I don't care much at all for Hillary, but if I absolutely have to vote for her as opposed to a Republican, I'll plug my nose, prepare myself for 8 more years of war and do it. Phew.

Edited on Mon Oct-01-07 10:16 AM by dmallind
I manage to self-identify as a Blue Dog despite constant vitriol and outright commands (yeah right) from DU keyboard warriors to leave the party. I will not vote for Giuliani, nor do I know of any other like minded centrist Dem who would.

I would prefer Richardson and, perhaps counterintuitively to some, Edwards over Hillary, but I will gladly fight for and contribute to any Dem candidate other than Gravel and Kucinich, and I would actually still VOTE for either of those over any of the current Republicans, just not much else.

Republicans I think are overestimating Rudy's crossover appeal. So obviously are some Dems.

EDIT - oh and as far as the OP goes "likely winner" is the answer for me. Again not what I WANT, just what I predict. Unless she implodes and loses discipline, it's her race to lose. A rather bold prediction though perhaps - if she doesn't win I'm thinking it's Edwards who'll be best placed to take over not Obama - but any of those three is fine by me so no crying at all if I'm wrong.

96. Technically true, but misleading.
It is, as you say, entirely possible to oppose Hillary without hating her.

However, many - it may even be true to say most, although that would be much more debateable - of the posts opposing her on DU are out-and-out hatred, not just principled opposition.

88. Apathy.
I don't dislike Hillary - and if she got the nomination, I would definitely want her to win (she'd be better than any Republican by a long shot) - but I can't say that I'm terribly EXCITED about the prospect of another Clinton presidency - I disagreed with a lot of Clinton's policies, was burned out by all the melodrama (the Monica/impeachment debacle, for me, was the last straw), and was not remotely happy with the election performance of the Democratic Party during the Clinton administration.

Again, I'd vote for her if she got the nomination, but I would also be considerably less emotionally invested in her candidacy than I would be in an Edwards, Biden, Obama, Dodd, or Richardson candidacy - but then again, given the aggressive awfulness of the current GOP, "Anybody but a Republican" is likely all the passion I need.
