1. That's what I heard!
Of course Dean supporters are not obligated to follow his instructions, but it was nice to hear him state this so directly.

I wasn't implying that Dead supporters had to do what Dean told them to, but i found it refreshing to me to hear him say that. I really hope he heads up the DNC soon.

20. Yeah.
We aren't.

As for myself, I'm taking a wait-and-see approach. I'm currently NBD until the convention, but I'll see what the ticket is before making a final endorsement in the Presidential race.

8. Just out of curiosity, as one Cheesehead to another--
What are you going to do about your posting name? Retain it as a historical curiosity?

11. I haven't decided yet!
Since I DID vote for Clark in WI, I felt it was fitting, at least through yesterday. I changed my avatar from the Wes Clark one to Wes Clark Dem after I voted - but I don't feel quite ready to change my name.

I guess I'll just give it some time.

10 fold! I think he will continue to do great things for this party.

Even though this is sad, I'm very proud of him now.

6. Gov. Dean and Gen Clark - Men of Honor
These men are gifts to the Democratic party. They are energizing people and giving us hope that we can take back America and we can change business as usual. I'm grateful and proud of them. :loveya:

15. Only Dean detractors assumed otherwise
But Dean knows he was drawing upon a wide base of supporters, some of whom won't feel comfortable supporting the eventual nominee if it wasn't him.

17. I don't think detractors were assuming anything.
Many Dean supporters on DU have been quite vocal in their statements that they will not support Kerry if he becomes the nominee.

Will Dean's urging change their minds? That has yet to be seen.

18. That's because Dean is a Democrat...
Never has claimed to be anything else.

Dean makes a lot of people FEEL different about themselves and politics but above all, he wants what many, but not all, of us want. And that's to get George Bush OUT of the White House in 2004.

HE knows that voting for Nader or Joe the Woodchuck in 2004 won't get that done.

Sadly, many here will make the same mistake as in 2000 not sensing the incredible DANGER a 2nd Bush term would pose this country.
