Dean supporters
Today your candidate dropped out, and many of you are heart-broken. Being a Clark supporter, I understand what you are going through now. You guys need your grieving process, and I hope you'll have it. I know that some of you have vowed to vote third party or stay home. Please don't do this. Dean himself said that you have the power, and if your group stays together, you will alter the Democratic party in the same way young supporters of Goldwater and McGovern did in their day. The Democrats cannot stand year after year of Daschle and Pelosi and their spinelessness. At least you all breathed new life into this election, and made it okay to shout at Bush.
I hope you have time to reflect, and hopefully join the eventual nominee in November.

1. Thanks for the post
I will vote for the DEM nominee in Nove even if its a ham sandwich. I think Howard wouldn't want people going third party, he would want them to go DEM.

2. I saw it coming.
I'm not devastated and I've already been preparing myself to get behind Kerry.

ABB, baby.

decision. He also needs time to mend. Don't forget to thank him for all of his hard work on your behalf.

8. Anyone that votes for Bush because Dean's out...
wasn't a listener to his message anyways. I know I'm willing and ready to give up a lot of my time to helping Kerry (presumably) take this country away from the right and give it back to the people. Dean's done more for this party in losing than he might have ever done in winning the nomination. He's shown us that our politicians don't have to take the right-wing BS lying down anymore; we have voices and they need to be heard!

Let's get Jr. out of office in November, and work to bring our nation back!

9. Don't mourn, fellow Deaniacs, ORGANIZE
I'm disappointed, but I've said all along I'm voting Democrat in November.

I'm not staying registered as a Democrat (I'm going Independent), but there's too much at stake not to vote for the Dem in this election.

I urge all Dean supporters to vote for the nominee. I think what the Dem establishment (along with the media and the GOP) did to our candidate is reprehensible, but another four years of Bush is going to be far more than reprehensible.

In the meantime, whomever is elected in the fall (Democrat or Republican), we need to keep OUR grassroots movement growing. The Dean Meetup I host, for example, is going to stick together as a Progressive Meetup. We plan to continue organizing on a grassroots level for local, state, national, and world issues that matter to us.

That's one of Dean's legacies (inspiring regular people to get active and make a difference in their communities and the world). Don't diminish it by giving up.

10. Crestfallen in Indiana...
After the last couple of weeks, I saw the handwriting on the wall so this was no surprise. I was one of the earliest supporters of Dean in my area and am proud of him and his campaign.

I met Governor Dean at a breakfast in his honor this past summer. In person, he was a lot shorter than I though but the man RADIATED charisma. When he spoke at the breakfast, you could have heard a pin drop he had the audience so rapt.

Thank you, mot78 for a truly classy post. (I would expect no less from a Clark supporter). I need time to process where I as an individual Dean supporter go now. If Dean's name is on my ballot when the may primary rolls around, I will vote for him. If his name is not on the ballot, I will vote for Dennis Kucinich. Kucinich had the courage to vote against the IWR, which was the issue that brought me to the Dean campaign in the first place. Of course, by May the nominee will already be determined, so my vote doesn't matter (AGAIN!)

11. I support dean......and want to throw out this idea....I noticed this when
came to my city...all the promotional items say "Dean For America"...no "Dean for President".

I think symbollically, and this message implied he would not be President...but.. would be good for America. Just my thoughts on the message.

He has done a lot for this party and country already...maybe the "mission was accomplished."

13. We are sad, but not defeated...
Our main task it to send Bush packing with a one-way bus ticket to Crawford, TX. We still have a lot of work to do, helping whomever gets the party nomination.

14. He will remain on the primary ballots. Pick up delegates. Am I right?
He will just not be campaigning actively. Most of us here fully intend to vote for him on March 9. He could continue to pick up delegates.

15. A year and a half ago, I felt as if someone was finally speaking, and
even yelling for me and my children. Someone was caring about their future enough to stand up and do something....today, well today I feel as if I have lost my voice again. :(
