Poll: Clinton, Giuliani maintain leads in New Jersey
TRENTON -- New Yorkers Hillary Rodham Clinton and Rudy Giuliani hold commanding leads in New Jersey in their quest for the presidential nomination, according to a new poll.

Clinton, a Democratic senator representing New York, leads her closest rival, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, 46 percent to 15 percent, according to the Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday.

Giuliani, a Republican former New York City mayor, leads his closest competitor, former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson, by a similarly wide margin, 45 percent to 12 percent, the poll finds.

Clinton and Giuliani, who hold a home-field advantage of sorts in neighboring New Jersey, have far outpaced their opponents in the Garden State.

A Quinnipiac poll in April had Clinton leading with 40 percent and Giuliani with 49
percent. A Fairleigh Dickinson University PublicMind poll in June also had Clinton and Giuliani well ahead.
