Senator Edwards Will Make A Better Nominee
For very simple reasons.

He's been a legislator for only (I think) four years. Kerry's been one for 20 years. (Kerry has more votes to be scrutinized by the GOP and media flacks.)

He's very smart, but so is Kerry.

Edwards is a better speaker. He's very inspiring. Which Kerry isn't, really.

He's good looking. (Couldn't hurt.)

Maybe it's trite by now, but Edwards is Clinton without the negatives. He's really something!

What I'm saying is, I really want to win in November.

3. Either one can win in November.
Incidentally, I found the account of Kerry going back for his fallen comrades extremely inspiring. Sure, maybe I'm biased, but don't think Kerry's actions during and after the war don't resonate with a lot of people.

8. with all due respect, I disagree . . .
Kerry will be the stronger candidate, particularly if he selects Clark as his running mate . . .

9. Completely agree.
Edwards lack of experience would be hell for us. The Puke fear machine would be in overdrive if Edwards is the nominee. Kerry can better stand toe to toe agains Bush on this issue.

A Kerry/Clark ticket would be a knock out punch against the Bush/Puke Fear machine.

I like John Edwards...alot. But his lack of experience in foreign policy and in government...only four years...is a negative that will hurt him. That's one thing I believe all Americans agree on regardless of political party...they want an experienced candidate especially when it comes to foreign policy.

I can cast a vote for him...easily...but don't have the confidence in him that I do in Kerry.

14. Kerry picked by Shapiro,USAToday, as one he'd most like to have beer with
when he was being interviewed last fall on C-Span. Shapiro said Kerry's reputation was one of aloofness--which he found to be a total mischaracterization, altho he is definitely a serious, thoughful man.

Walter Shapiro traveled with all of the major candidates last summer and wrote a book about his experiences on the campaign trail, titled "One Car Caravan."
