Bill says Hillary most qualified non-incumbent in his lifetime
Moreso than Gore, or Kerry for that matter? Hell, even Dukakis was a Governor once. And Mondale, he of VP experience?

Shameless oversell much?

Here's the direct quote from the Daily Show last night:

"She is the best qualified non-incumbent candidate I've ever had the chance to vote for in almost 40 years."

A link to the interview is on the bottom of this page:

9. Wonderful answer
or maybe he voted for George Bush the last two times. He did say he liked both Kerry and Bush.

Frankly, Al Gore was more qualified than Hillary is, as was John Kerry.

2. They are married....
Of course he is going to say something good about her. He seems to love her so I would expect he would be supportive. I thought it was really nice. Flame away. Good Lord...She said something nice about the Clinton's!!!!!

3. And just when I thought Bill was being nuanced, he goes over the top!
Whatcha gonna do? She's kick his butt if he didn't say that but that was a bit too obvious in its pandering.

4. the reason she is "qualified" is because of Him
he's actually patting his own self on the back!!! He really just wants to get back in the saddle and be a power player in running the country.

15. Exactly
And I find this extremely disturbing. Personal likes or dislikes aside, she is obviously a very intelligent, hard working, and knowledgeable woman. As are many others of both sexes. But she would NEVER be in the position she is now, not to mention all the obsessive media focus on her, if her last name was anything but Clinton. End of story.

7. How about "most qualified in the race" instead of ALL-TIME
Edited on Fri Sep-21-07 03:48 PM by BeyondGeography
Even though I still disagree, it would show some restraint and a little less eagerness on his part to get back to the White House.

12. I remember that she tracked terror networks throughout the 80s and 90s and
exposed more government corruption than any other Democratic lawmaker in modern history.

This nation would be in its tenth year of fascism by now if it was not for Hillary Clinton's work uncovering and investigating all those crimes of office of previous administrations.

34 years in senate, been chair of foreign relations and judiciary... talked to more foreign leaders than anyone. This is such bs. I love Bill but he obviously has to say these things or he'll never have sex (with his wife) again

18. What's so surprising about that?
If I was running for president and my husband told somebody that he thought my opponents were more qualified than I, there would be a big chill in the marital hearth.

26. Why would anyone think this surprising?
Of COURSE he supports her. There's nothing surprising about Elizabeth Edwards, Michelle Obama, or any of the other candidates' wives supporting them, and thinking and saying they'd be great.

Jeez, people.
