Dobson Says He Won't Support Thompson

DENVER — James Dobson, one of the nation's most politically influential evangelical Christians, made it clear in a message to friends this week he will not support Republican presidential hopeful Fred Thompson.

In a private e-mail obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press, Dobson accuses the former Tennessee senator and actor of being weak on the campaign trail and wrong on issues dear to social conservatives.

"Isn't Thompson the candidate who is opposed to a Constitutional amendment to protect marriage, believes there should be 50 different definitions of marriage in the U.S., favors McCain-Feingold, won't talk at all about what he believes, and can't speak his way out of a paper bag on the campaign trail?" Dobson wrote.

"He has no passion, no zeal, and no apparent 'want to.' And yet he is apparently the Great Hope that burns in the breasts of many conservative Christians? Well, not for me, my brothers. Not for me!"

2. But when it comes right down to it, they'll pull the lever for whichever
douchebag has an "R" next to their name.

Because, you know, the "D" folks will just be aborting babies from gay couples on the church lawn while burning flags 24/7 and there won't be a damned thing we can do about it because they pried the guns from our cold, dead fingers.

4. Oh, certainly. But it lowers his chances in the primary.
Still, Jesus, who can the Evangelicals vote for in the Primaries? Rudy the Crossdressing Abortionist? Crazy-Religion Mitt? "Agents-of-Intolerance" McCain? Seems they're stuck with Brownback or Tancredo or Huckabee or some other no-chance loser.

5. Why is he even running?
He'a lazy, a lousy campaigner, & doesn't appear to have the fire in the belly necessary to even run, let alone win. He's wasting his, and our, time. Was it the trophy wife's idea or something?
