Al Gore to make announcement?
From the business week article.

http://www.businessweek.com/bwdaily/dnflash/content/sep2007/db20070918_162206.htm

"Is he finally going to announce he's in the race, I ask the politician, who joked on stage with Leonardo DiCaprio during the February Oscar telecast that he was using that televised event to announce his candidacy. "Well, I am intending to make an announcement," he says, dragging out each syllable for effect. Then, he smiles, jumps up from his seat, and offers a firm handshake that looks less like a candidate on the make than a Hollywood power player looking for his next big project. "

He loves playing cat and mouse games, doesn't he?

9. To be honest, I am guessing it has NOTHING to do with what we want.
But I find it fun when he plays these little games with people.

He knows he is keeping money and attention AWAY from the democratic candidates, but continues to play, which means he is still seriously considering a run. However, I doubt he will "tease" that announcement like this.

He does, however, go out of his way every few weeks to make sure his name stays in the public eye.

I am putting my $$$ on October 26th as the date of the announcement. 2 Weeks past the Nobel prize. He can't announce before, lest he taint the process... and he doens't want to use it as a "springboard", so he will need to put a little time between receiving the award and his announcement.

5. I'm sure the announcement has to do with Current.
"Gore says he intends to delve deeper into participatory journalism on Oct. 15, when Current will launch a new, improved Web site that he says will change the way folks use the Net. How so? Gore and Hyatt aren't saying. Instead, Gore is headed out soon to Burbank, Calif., where he's scheduled to appear on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. "

6. Interesting article, thanks.
"Current TV may not seem like CNN to you or me. But to Al Gore, who has made it a post-Presidential-campaign mission to turn the media back to the people, it's important that the network is getting notice. Gore, he reminds me, was a reporter for seven years at his family-owned newspaper. He knows this stuff. And Gore says he intends to delve deeper into participatory journalism on Oct. 15, when Current will launch a new, improved Web site that he says will change the way folks use the Net. How so? Gore and Hyatt aren't saying. Instead, Gore is headed out soon to Burbank, Calif., where he's scheduled to appear on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno."

7. How many times does he have to answer the same question?
He's not playing anything. He has a mic in his face asking the same damn question over and over again.

Gore is fine. It is John Q. Public who is anxious bordering on obnoxious.

25. You can bet against Gore on Intrade
You can bet against Gore getting the Democratic nomination on Intrade, and get around an 8 % return on your investment. 8 % in less than a month is very good on an annual return basis. I've bet thousands of dollars against Gore myself.

13. Mine too
Clark was disappointing, but not entirely unexpected. But Gore, Kerry or Feingold - blech. It would definitely be time to forget politics and shift to private efforts to save the planet.

12. Gore lost . . .time for someone new.
The knee-jerk liberals among us may worship whatever idols they choose. But this election will be the province of moderates of both parties. The extremists will be driven in to the corners by an utterly changed set of national priorities.

Gore was . . . Joe Biden is.

14. Since when is Gore an "extremist?" And just exactly which "extremists" are you talking about?
Would that be extremists who look at the polls on Iraq, health care, on corporate trustworthiness, on the obligation of a civilized society to provide an adequate safety net, on the to-date performance of the Democratically led Congress - etc. - and think maybe some change is in order? Would those "extremists" be those who actually think the duty of Congress is to provide over-sight and spend the people's money in the people's best interest, and not act as a rubber stamp for Corporate interests?

As for Mr. Bankruptcy Bill Biden, he showed where his allegiance lies, clear enough.

22. Gore lost once and, if given the chance, will do it again.
Definition of an extremist: one who makes movies about global warming while thousands of Americans die in an unjust war. When will that bloated s.o.b wake up?
