10. What a difference an endorsement makes...
I would have been SO PSYCHED about this appearance recently. Now, after General Clark's endorsement, I almost hate the thought of watching, as (I'm guessing) he sings the praises of someone so unfit for the job we so desperately need Clark to fill.

Damn.

12. Why so much face time this week?
It's like he planned the endorsement anouncement around these shows.

14. Not his main focus this week
if you check out other media appearances over at Securing America (http://www.securingameria.com), though all the media types ask at least one question about it, the focus is on the book (which is marvelous) and Iraq and Iran.

15. Mostly he'll just be hawking his book
Edited on Wed Sep-19-07 02:47 PM by Jai4WKC08
Which is wonderful, btw. If you haven't read it yet, you should. A.S.A.P.

Altho I got to admit, Larry.... I don't see how you can say Clinton is "so unfit" to be POTUS when Wes Clark has endorsed her. She may not be your first choice, but "unfit"? Clark wouldn't endorse ANYone who is "unfit." Could NEVER happen.

16. I don't want to get into bashing...
...so let me just re-word that to say "Hillary Clinton is so much less fit to be a good president than Wes Clark is, that..."

Words fail me. It's like describing what's outside the universe.

19. Yup. That's just what I thought.
I'm no longer even sure that Clark would be good in the WH if he's so screwed up that he'd endorse ... her.

26. Not an act at all. Not at all.
I still think the world of Clark. He's one of very few public figures I've ever known that I don't expect will have ulterior motives. I really believe he is in public life to serve, which is an exceptionally rare concept.

Given that, in fact, I have to say that even with my antipathy to the thought of Hillary Clinton as a potential president, I will reluctantly have to delve more into her positions. I won't go in lockstep even with the General, but it's still very true that when he speaks, I listen.

And therefore, yes, I ended up watching him on the Daily Show. I'm sorry it got edited down, as others have posted. Sounds like it would have been a much more satisfying, well-rounded interview if they'd left it as it aired for the studio audience. Show biz, I guess.

27. You might try reading my last two entries at my own blog site
"A Left Turn FOR CLARK". They deal with my dealing with Clark's endorsement of Clinton, as a strong Clark supporter who has been far from thrilled at the prospect of Hillary becoming our nominee. Here is the link:

28. A lot of people have never really understood how independent-minded
Clarkies tend to be.

The whole 'lock-step' mentality we've often been accused of was never even close to reality.

Clark supporters are always willing to weigh the value of a policy on its own merits -- not accept something on face value.

In addition, the deep respect that we have for General Clark is returned by him.....

Listen to an interview recorded today. It's about 18 minutes long....... but pay particular attention to about 15:30 when he talks about Clark supporters and the sacrifices they made in 04... and would have made in 08 to help him.

http://securingamerica.com/node/2708

Respect given is always returned.
