Guess there isn't enough Bush disaster to discuss today. He is attracting some bizarre callers though. The last guy just started off with, "If you like liberal columnists like Maureen Dowd..."

2. You are aware that Kerry said that there was no evidence of electoral fraud in Ohio, aren't you?
Forget the taser incident, consider Kerry's lame excuse for not challenging the Ohio results, and what that does to raise once again the old charge that Kerry won't butt heads with a fellow Bonesman.

We have to protect our shallow image of Kerry at all costs! While the Kerry camp runs to his defense they are tripping over the fact that there was real vote fraud in Ohio.

And maybe the Dem party's legal team of election experts should be overhauled.

And maybe McAuliffe and Carville shouldn't be around making SURE a Dem doesn't have the evidence or the ballots.

29. Had Kerry challenged the Ohio voting, he would have won, and blocked Hillary from the Presidency
The more reason why there were so many establishment Democrats counseling cave in on Ohio, just as they did in Florida in 2000.

I clearly remember that happening when the local Ohio press reported massive voting irregularities, such as more people voting in one county than there were registered voters.

47. Had Kerry challenged the Ohio voting...
he would have been roundly trashed in the media, vocally criticized by his fellow Democrats, and only given George Bush more vaunted political capital after the 100% Republican dominated administration in Ohio quashed any attempt he made to challenge the State's reported results.

Gore had less deficit to make up in a more friendly political environment and still didn't get to the White House. Why would Kerry have succeeded where Gore failed, with the odds even more stacked against him?

48. Aren't you tired of the Democrats being always afraid of offending the Republicans?
Do you think for one moment that if the roles were reversed, the GOP would be as cowardly as the Democrats? Not a chance! Haven't you heard that the Republicans were planning to challenge the constitutionality of the Electoral College had Gore won the electoral votes but lost the popular vote to Bush?

The Democrats show more spine in giving the shaft to their own base than they are in confronting that criminal organization known as the GOP.

The GOP DEFUNDED Somalia when Clinton was President!!!!!!!! Why can't the Democrats defund Iraq?

52. So-called "fear" is the symptom and not the disease.
Democrats are starting from ten points behind in every race because the consistent pounding of the RW line in this country for the past umpteen years has been all too effective. The default position in this country is still the Republican one, and unless and until that changes, we have more challenges to overcome than the Republicans do and that's just the way it is. One way that expresses itself is in caution/fear among Democrats.

a major turn for the worse, and some thugs had beaten a protestor at a speech by a GOP senator, which event would cabal "news" and hate radio be talking about?

So the question still stands - shouldn't EVERYONE who wants the Group Of Perverts out of office be concentrating on that?

According to what that link reports:

Kerry went on to explain that he did not think there was sufficient evidence of voter suppression to justify contesting the 2004 election.

"We just couldn't do it in good conscience because we didn't have that evidence," he said.

"not sufficient evidence" is not the same as "no evidence"

56. That is not true
Kerry spoke in May 2006 at the graduation at Kenyon College and at several Ohio 2006 political events. What he did in some forums was to ennumerate many of the ways they lost votes due to suppression - but many were not illegal.

To suggest it was S&B is beyond stupid. You would have to believe:
- that he was willing to work himself to the bone for 2 years - knowing there was no chance of winning at the end.

- if there were a deal and Kerry was doing this for Bush, wouldn't he have negotiated that he and Teresa would not be smeared. If you've seen the affection he has for the Vietnam scarred vets who were his crew - do you think he would not have called his S&B brother to stop the attacks that reallly hurt them.

- wouldn't he have thrown the debates (or at leastnot been awesome) - it sure easier than doing so incredibly it made what didn't look close become a Kerry lead before the OBL tape came out.

- Also there are times Kerry speakis of regretting the loss - always in the context of having far less power. Listen to this - it shows too things why he regrets the loss and how he would have acted as a world leader - just getting a Democrat will not make up for this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXd66eae9K8 (I think you will get a nice view in this short U tube)

Use some common sense. Senator Kerry has a public record that stretches back to 1971. If you listen to him, Vietnam, not his Yale years motivates him.

"If you want to hear it from someone that was there:

The disturbance did not begin with Andrew asking the question. He caused quite a scene by bursting into the room in the middle of Q+A, rudely interrupting Kerry answering another question (what was supposed to be the last one), and demanding to be heard. The cops followed him in (I have the feeling he had been giving them a hard time outside as well)

John Kerry responded by asking him to calm down and wait his turn, that his question would be answered next.

As some of the videos show, his question was long and rambling without much focus, less of a question if you will than an outburst. John Kerry remained calm, tried to guide him to the direct question he would like answered, but Andrew continued. After Accent cut his mike off, the cops tried to guide him out and as you can all see the real event began.

I was sitting in the back row of the auditorium- less than 5 feet from where he was restrained and ended up being tasered. (you can see my green shirt next to my friend in the striped shirt on most of the videos) He WAS NOT handcuffed yet when they did it. He was still attempting to get up and resist the police officers and would not put his hands behind his back.

Within close range, I have to say that I didn't feel it was the safest situation. I did not feel like they had him under control at all- and was scared that if he did manage to get up- he would have started getting riled up again. I personally was in a location that if he had started flailing around again- I would have been at risk.

Now- my opinion- I think Andrew had intentions to be disruptive and was not going to leave peacefully. I am by no means a proponent of violence, but the way the UPD handled this situation was completely appropriate."

I'd like to also thank you. I wasn't as close to him, but agree that his actions were meant to disrupt, and make a scene. He deserved what he got and UPD did what they had to, and had they not handled it as professionally as they did, they wouldn't be doing ther jobs. Being that it was Sen. Kerry the police also had to act accordingly.

And how pathetic that some of you have STILL never spent the time to peruse the National Security Archives. If you had you might stop badgering the one guy in DC with the best record of uncovering and exposing government corruption and protecting the right of the citizenry to open government from all those who seek to close government to protect the secrecy and privilege of the powerful.

But that requires too much effort from those who would rather be manipulated by spin.

28. Well Ted, I'll give you a little perspective.
Edited on Tue Sep-18-07 10:00 PM by ShortnFiery
FEAR is when you are huddled in your USA-UK American Compound during an uprising (1964) where four miles away people are being killed and decapitated ... placing their heads on stakes.

FEAR is living under Martial Law for six weeks until your family is able to be spirited out in the dead of night. (Singapore, 1964)

Some overly-compassionate, even nutty activist was not threatening you in any way. He was threatening "the establishment." This activist was boisterous but that's FREE SPEECH with all it's ugly raw presentation. That is nothing to FEAR. :(

However, with six Campus Cops on duty, they should have had him dropped and cuffed in less than thirty seconds. Those boys and girls do not work as a team and beyond all else, using a taser to glean compliance is reflective of sloppy work.

I didn't like the guy's arrogance, but I served in the Army to protect his right to be "an activist."

Therefore, I'll be damned if I would condone LAZY cops who cannot work as a team resorting to brutality of a Taser. Methinks they need more training in "hand to hand" TAKE DOWNS. They must have been sleeping through those classes.

38. I agree the taser shouldn't have been used. But there is the other matter that police
on campuses have been heavily criticized because they DIDN'T react more strongly to a perceived threat.

Like I said - Virginia Tech isn't far from the minds of most college students and the police who work on those campuses. In fact, after Virginia Tech, a student who INTENDS to be disruptive should make it clear he is not a threat and do so with some measure of regard for the other students. Responsibility should be expected from a 21 yr old man.

Perhaps we should all be evaluated by authorities within The Ministry of Homeland Security and given "a civil rights number" that reflects how much rights "our character" warrants us?

But don't forget - THAT NUMBER is assigned by "the deciders" who are GIVEN that authority. :scared:

Malloy comes across too strong too, stick to the factual data, and the dems win the WH and pick up about 8 Senate seats in 2008. What should Kerry have done; grabbed the police officers and take the taser gun away from them? It's easy to play the old Monday quarterbacking scenerio. This crap turns my stomach!!

We have people dying in Iraq by the hundreds every day; that is what we need to be concerned about.

58. It's not only that, but What I got on Malloy's show last night I could've gotten by
listening to one of the 20 or so hate radio stations I can tune in at night. What's the point?
