1. Me, too.
But, at least in GA, he has to be an OFFICIAL write-in candidate for it to count. I hope we can make that happen.

6. The irony of that statement is heartbreaking.
After the recount of Florida ballots, it was discovered that there were enough Gore votes to have given him the election without any interpretation needed concerning hanging chads. Hundreds of people, to emphasize their support of Gore, punched his name, and then wrote his name in as a write-in. IF those votes alone had been counted, Gore would be president. If those idiots had stopped screwing around and had taken their votes seriously, Gore would be president.

Do what you want.

33. So you think bush wouldn't have stolen it if those people had just not written in Gore?
I think you are naive.

If the people punch Gore and write Gore, then of course Gore loses.

When Kathy and Jeb are counting the votes they just do whatever it takes. Why not? It's not like any Dems are ever going to say boo about it.

Cut 75,000 legitimate voters, most of them black democrats by using bogus purge sheets. What difference does it make how those people punched their ballots Gore and wrote in Gore? ? They would have been stolen like they were or another way.

The law, US law, British Common law and the law dating back to Roman Law always favores function over form. So the question is who did this voter vote for, really is the paramount question. And it could be argued that the fact they puched and wrote Gore was because they intended to vote for Gore?

You realize the whole things was a scam, right, and it really doesn't matter how people cast their ballot, because Jeb nd Kathy already knew what ballots to count and what ballots not to count.

Just prior to the networks calling for Gore based on exit polling, the computer goes down and Gore gets 10,000 votes reversedfrom his total.

He didn't get a glitch of 10,000,000,000 votes, his was just 10,000 removed from his previous vote count. This caused the networks to not call Florida for Gore, and suddenly, Fox was calling the state for bush and the rest of the proceedings/suits/media after just ratified the coup.

As a Democrat, I want to know why so few of the elected officials in my party will actually address, much less talk about in an open way, the stolen election of 2000.

When our politics requires so much euphemism and stealth to fuction, then why would anyone take it seriously? The whole thing is as kabuki as it gets, which is as stupid a way there is for a democracy to function.

bush stole it outright and wholesale, he didn't even steal it fair and square, he stole it down and dirty. And the fact the Dems don't say much about it makes me wonder. Jimmy Carter said something. But not many others. The Black Caucus said something, but not many others.

That would make a great debate question. Was Florida 2000 stolen?

8. Grow up. No candidate is perfect.
All you would be doing is throwing away your vote. The choice in the next election is do you want *'s policies to be continued? If you do, vote for anyone but the democratic nominee. You may not like the dem running in '08, but I bet you dislike *'s policies more.

34. you could at least give Gravel and Kucinich a chance
I could vote Obama or Edwards in the general, but I have problems with them. Flawed, but overall, I like them.

but Gravel and Kucnich are as solid of progressives as you can get-it might be a better protest vote. Who knows, you might even get them a delegate or two, depending on how your state allots them.

30. You vote for Ralph Nader, too, and REALLY make sure your vote doesn't count.
Gore doesn't want to run or doesn't appear to want to be President at this stage of his life.

He's making tons of $$$$, getting awards and accolades, and is being revered as an elder statesman of sorts. Maybe if 51% of the country wrote him in, so he'd be President without any effort on his part, he'd take it, but that's not going to happen.

And...do we really want a leader of the country who doesn't really want to work for the job?

As opposed to spending MILLIONS of $$$$$$$ traveling around the country campaigning, spinning, and making as many of phony promises as you can, over a 2 Year period?
