Biden aiming for 'buzz' with Iowa strategy
<Hoping to boost his chances in the first state to choose a Democratic presidential nominee, Biden has been making an aggressive pitch for Iowa lawmakers' support that's producing some surprising results.

While polls place Biden at the back of the eight-candidate Democratic pack, he's in the top tier in Iowa when it comes to legislative endorsements. He received his eighth last week from the state's Democratic House Majority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy of Des Moines.>

<Biden's "experience, especially foreign-policy experience, is just unmatched," said McCarthy, a Polk County prosecutor who helped engineer the Democratic takeover of the Iowa Statehouse last year. "I think he's the most competent to handle the situation in Iraq."

Legislative endorsements are a key part of Biden's strategy for a surprise Iowa caucus showing in January, which he hopes will give him momentum to succeed in other states.

In late 2006 -- before he announced his presidential candidacy -- he attended about 60 events in Iowa, mainly to help Democratic state lawmakers win back the Statehouse. According to McCarthy's count, Biden has appeared at more events for legislative Democrats than any other candidate.

Some of those lawmakers are now helping Biden.>

<"Those three candidates don't even equal half his tenure in office," (state Sen. Joe) Seng said of Clinton, Edwards and Obama's combined years in the Senate. "If you're effective, you need to know the system.">

1. As the Polk Kevin McCarthy said, Biden's "experience, especially foreign-policy
experience, is just unmatched." Exactly. Which is why we need Biden, who KNOWS what he's doing in the foreign policy arena, at the helm -- especially with all the Iran buzz that's going around.

2. of all the recent speechifying and tv appearances,
I have to say - I like Biden the best. Never in a million years did I think I would ever type that. I wanted Gore or Clark- am still undecided - but Biden is becoming more appealing to me.

I don't like a couple of his votes - but I LOVE his plan for Iraq. It sounds odd, but how the hell else can you fix that country?

10. I have heard this same sentiment many times lately
If people really listen to him, he certainly outshines the rest.

3. I was so happy to see all of the Biden supporters at the Steak Fry.
And the introduction that Harkin gave for Biden had me cheering!
When he said that Biden has the capability of changing peoples minds,
and how his plan for Iraq is now being adapted in Iraq... and that's not the first time
Biden has been right.

:applause:

12. Thank you for the welcome!
Now we need to get the word out that Biden tis the best for ALL of the united states. based upon
1) his experience
2) his trustworthiness
3) his electibility, (all of my republican friends cept one, would voter for him.)
4) It occurs to me that a) This campaign needs a slogan. The one that comes to mind is "Biden, The best choice for ALL of America" and b) starting a group of "Republicans for Biden".

13. We are working hard to spread his message.
I agree he needs a slogan.
Other than his plan for Iraq, there isn't anything else that the average person can
attach to him.
