I'm in WI and Clark was still on the ballot
Edited on Tue Feb-17-04 11:31 PM by Mobius
that's who I voted for. In the GE i will vote ABB. My concern is with these exit polls. As a Clark supporter, I loathe the press more than supporters of other candidates, because of how Clark was summarily ignored. The LAST thing I would want to do, is give any type of info to a reporter doing exit polls. I think exit polls taken before the polls close is downright immoral, based on the fact that they are reported to perspective voters, before they vote. On MSNBC site, the exit polls have Clark supporters as about 1 out of 100. No link, I'm watching local CBS affiliate who starts a 2 hour telecast at 9pm weekdays CST. I humbly submit my theory to DU members, that not many Clark supporters would deign to talk to an exit poller. I saw one, talking to a young Dean Supporter (I heard interview while waiting for a ride), he was a nice kid and seemed well informed. As my ride arrived however, I told the young supporter that exit polls are a tool used to sway votes towards the front runner and that he wasn't helping his candidate by doing so. I feel that other Clark supporters would also not talk to exit pollers, thereby skewing the results in favor of supporters of candidates that would talk to exit poller. Am I out there, or does this make sense to anyone else?
(edited to add that this station has reported Clark getting 20% , getting more votes than Dean)

1. IL primary
I will be voting edwards in the IL primary for the same reason. Exit polls are a scam. Democracy rules ABB.

5. He is not only on the ballot, he got many votes
See http://customwire.ap.org/dynamic/files/elections/2004/primaries/by_state/WI_Page.html?SITE=YAHOOELN&SECTION=POLITICS#TOP

This has Clark with 9,129 votes with many precincts still not in. That's more support than Al Sharpton.

Ok Clark is about 2% , oh well. Still not bad for someone that dropped out. I still strongly disagree with exit polling.

7. Thank You
for voting for Wes! I think you're right about the exit polls.

I wonder if Wes will get any mention tomorrow in the news on how well he did in Wisconsin tonight? Not bad for not being in the race. ;)

13. I'm still voting for Clark
in the CA primary which is two weeks away. I'm all for Kerry now but I wouldn't feel right if I didn't give Clark the primary vote.

I wish I had the opportunity to cast a vote for Wes, but living in Colorado, I've been completely disenfranchised. The repukes took away our primary so we only have a caucus and that is in April.

Since there's no way that there would be enough supporters in one district to successfully caucus, there doesn't seem much point.

If it's a choice between Edwards and Kerry I probably won't bother, unless I see some very strong signals of a possible spot on the ticket for Wes. Otherwise, I'll just vote for the candidate that the media and the party establishment choose for me when the time comes.
