1. They're calling it based on exit polling, not actual votes reported.

4. So hold on a sec
They couldn't call it for Kerry earlier, but with Edwards ahead they can call it for Kerry?

20. Kerry's up by 4,000 votes now. The exit polls showed Kerry way ahead
on the currently unreported areas, so they called it based on that.

They are still old-fashioned folks. That's what this shows.

7. they are basing it on exit and actual data
i'm guessing their exit polling has so far been accurate with the real numbers coming in. so they assume the rest of the exit polls are correct also. but i don't want them to declare the winner with the race this close even though it's my candidate. they should just let the real numbers continue coming in.

9. I'd like to see Kerry win, but I would also like to see the media crippled
by folks lying in exit polls. THAT would show the presumptive media!

10. It doesn't matter
the polls are closed and no other elections are going on....

The only thing this can do is embarrase those who were wrong...

besides....this is already a defeat for Kerry even if he wins....we have a horse race now...

18. Milwaukee Journal says 39% in and tied at 38%. But it seems to have
stopped going up, been stuck at 39% for a while now. Till now it was updating fast.
