I just read that they handed out some awards on FAUX News Sunday:

Gaffes of the year:
George W. Bush lands on the aircraft carrier with "Mission Accomplished" banner and speech.

Kerry supports war in Iraq, then changes his mind while campaigning.

Best Moves of the Year:
Howard Dean forgoes public financing.

Surprise of the Year:
Howard Dean for President


Did anyone see this? I never turn on FAUX, but this is pretty funny, esp. that they would give GWB the Gaffe of the Year. Won't believe it until I hear an independent confirmation.

I agree that it was the Gaffe of the Year. But I think * owns that category.

As I recall, in order to dump combat pay for the troops, there has to be a formal declaration of the end of major combat... which is what Bush did.
