Official WISCONSIN results thread
In order to help everyone keep track of the returns tonight, please post all updates in this official thread. Please do not start a bunch of other results threads, as they will just make people confused.

INSTRUCTIONS

Please put the most important information from each update in the SUBJECT LINE of your post, so the returns are easy to follow. Include the percent of precincts reporting, followed by the first three or four candidates in order. Kinda like this:

00% reporting - Candidate A 00%, Candidate B 00%, Candidate C 00%, Candidate D 00%

This thread is for results ONLY. Please avoid unnecessary discussion in this thread.

4. I saw it coming. A lot of Dean supporters switched to Edwards last week.
That gave him a huge bump among people I talked to.

12. According to CNN, it was because it was an open primary......
and independents voted for Edwards. No talk of switch from Dean to Edwards that I heard of.

who can match cities to counties in Wisco?

Particulary Madison, Milwaukee, Green Bay?

Just wondering how it's shaping up at the county level.

I actually went to UW-Madison . . . but forgot the county name! I think it begins with a "D"??

And is Milwaukee Marquette county?

Thanks!

75. UW-Madison/city of madison is Dane,
Marquette is far far far northern county. Milwaukee is Milwaukee county, periphery counties are Ozaukee, Kenosha, and Waukesha

Brown County - Green Bay
Calumet County - Appleton

Wausau (Marathon County? i think.), Eau Claire, Fond Du Lac (Fond Du Lac county), Racine County, Rock County is a Madison suburb, are other bigger big areas.
Sheboygand and Manitowoc are fairly large counties as well.

74. The earliest results
are coming in from the counties around the largest ciies, where Edwards did all of his campaigning. As the outlying communities are coming in , the results are moving towards Kerry. Fox has the largest vote count so far with Kerry at over 55,000 votes now and Edwards at about 54,000. Everyone else is relying on the exit polls they are receiving from the outlying areas and adding them to the projections to what has already been counted.

Hey, even with a second as close as this will be, Edwards will not be doing very poorly in this race, even if Kerry wins.

84. The early results from the Milwaukee paper
Al show the rural and suburban counties coming in first and lmost nothing from urban centers yet. When more urban votes are counted, it APPEARS as though Kerry's total increases.
