Just finished voting

I was #240 out of about 600 in our Precinct. If you subtract the Repubs in our ward, I think that's a pretty good turnout. It was a little bit busy but the lines weren't too long.

The polling place is in a National Guard Armory and while we were standing in line, I was smirking and snickering. My wife noticed and gave me an elbow to the ribs and said something like "I know what you want to say, but don't say it out loud. By the time I got to the election clerks, I was grinning like I had just swallowed a 300 lb canary. The lady must have thought I was nuts!

Anyway, my wife and I voted our respective consciences (and apparently not for the same person) but afterward we both felt like we had given the national media and TV pundits the equivalent of the one-finger-salute and we are both proud of it.

I haven't missed a chance to vote in over 20 years, and I'm proud as hell that I did it again today.

This is without a doubt the most important election of my lifetime, I've been voting since 1968. Yours too, I'd say.
