Drudge Did Spell Kerry Correctly (Clark Did NOT Say "Intern Issue")
Just in case anybody was still wondering whether anything in the original Drudge item about John Kerry was accurate, I can confirm that Wesley Clark did not say what Drudge says he said at that off-the-record conversation with reporters in Nashville one week ago.

I was there when Clark spoke, and just to make sure I didn't miss anything, I've also checked with other reporters who were there. Since it was off the record (sort of), I can't get into what Clark actually said (let's just say it was not his finest moment on the campaign trail), but I can report that the quote Drudge attributes to him--"Kerry will implode over an intern issue"--is not accurate. He never said that.

1. Good to see ya, DTH
And thanks for the info. What have you been up to lately? How's the General doing? Can we expect to see him anywhere anytime soon? Perhaps a campaign stop or a TV appearance.

2. This was an effort by Drudge to blame a Drm
so if the story turned out to be false, he and the other Repukes could say, "Well, it was leaked by a Dem," as a way to deflect responsibility.

4. omg, this is so funny (not the "intern" thing)
Semi-chilled Bud Light was the drink of choice, as it was on the Clark campaign bus. The already paper-thin wall separating the young Clark media embeds and the young Clark staffers was finally torn down, and both sides joined the general in the kitchen. There, at the top of his lungs, the former Supreme Allied Commander sang Madonna's "Like a Prayer" and Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'." One ex-Clarkie quipped, "The scariest part was that he knew all the words."

LOL!

As for what he said or didn't, I really don't give a shit anymore. Maybe he made a comment about Janet's tits. What does it matter? We all have our bad days.

I still want to hear the General's rendition of "Like a Prayer". :)

6. I loved that too
Who'd a thunk the General would know the words to "Like a Prayer"?

I would like to know what this "not his finest moment" was and what the hell he said. This sounds intriguing to me now.

9. Maybe he said...

Man, Kerry has hot interns! Could spell trouble...

or

That intern, Kerri, could make a man implode...

or

My internal Kerry's are imploding...

*edit*

Seriously, if I were a betting woman, I would guess he said something like "unless Kerry is caught fucking an intern, we are toast" or something thereabouts.

8. And another thing
What's all this about reporting things that people say off the record? (Not to mention getting it WRONG!)

I thought the whole point was that it's OFF THE RECORD! Doesn't this virtually guarantee no more off the record commentary from any candidates anymore?

10. Hey guys. Don't we get it. The RW does this every time. The use dems to
hide behind when they slime. No democrat would be the source
of the smear yet the Media won't pin the blame.
