Poll question: Would YOU LIKE to see Gore or Clinton join the race?
I don't see it happening but... theoretical.

1. Give Limbaugh Hannity and Noonan a media orgy?
I don't think so.

4. Maybe Gore, NOT Clinton
Hillary Clinton is *unelectable*.

11. Unelectable?
Edited on Tue Feb-17-04 04:31 PM by Shoedogg
I have a feeling that in 2008 or 2012 she may just run roughshod over any competition.

Yes, many people hate her - but many people love her as well.

(This added on edit and further thought: )

And, frankly, the only person that I've ever seen that I'd actually term "unelectable" is currently sitting in the Oval Office. So, I don't know how much faith I put into "electability."

12. I doubt she could ever be elected
She would turn out the GOP base in record numbers. Besides - she's a one term Senator from NY that voted for the IWR, the PATRIOT Act - why would we want her to run?

I'm frankly tired of the wanna-be aristocrats running the country. Just because your father or husband was in politics shouldn't give you a foot in the door. Clinton's riding the coattails of her husband, and that's bad politics - just like Bush riding the coattails of his father.

7. No, I would not.
I deeply respect both men, and have genuine affection for them, but I think that at THIS juncture they wouldn't help so much as harm us. Ask me again after Labor Day, though. :)

8. Repugs have too much invested
in their irrational loathing of Hillary. The biggest thing she has going is name recognition and presumably any eventual nominee will have that. Also Bill's ear but, again, the dem will have that too.

10. Gore has too much egg on his face to run this year.
Dean's demise has left Gore looking like he's out of touch. I'm sure he'll endorse whoever the nominee may be (and Dean technically still has a chance) but Gore's chance at the nomination is gone until 2008, when he'll have to take on Hillary.

14. How is endorsing one of the two populists in the race "out of touch"?
oh. because he didn't toe the DLC you get Kerry line. I see.

16. Sad, but true.
Now that Dean is no longer actively seeking the Presidency, the DLC has got their revenge for LIEberman's trouncing. But nobody was really listening to their fears until the media began saturating the market two weeks before the Iowa caucuses with "Doubts about Dean". Once that occured, the wheels were set in motion for Dean's demise. That's my take on how it all went down.

By the way, who is the other populist you refer to when you said, "one of the two populists"? Was it Clark? Would Sharpton or Kucinich be considered a populist?
