The Council for Affordable Health Insurance (CAHI) is a research and advocacy association of insurance carriers active in the individual, small group, HSA and senior markets. CAHI's membership includes insurance companies, small businesses, providers, nonprofit associations, actuaries, insurance brokers and individuals. Since 1992, CAHI has been an active advocate for market-oriented solutions to the problems in America's health care system.
"What We Do
CAHI’s board of directors leads the organization’s activities and consists of senior executives with vast insurance and health care policy experience.
The board members develop policy positions, review proposed legislation, and testify before Congress and state legislative committees.
Policy analysts and actuaries research the impact of legislation and produce in-depth reports and concise two-page Issues & Answers articles in order to support CAHI’s education and communication efforts. CAHI has also developed an extensive network of grassroots organizations with whom it works to carry forward its message to the media and to lawmakers."
They like Hillary"Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D)
www.hilliaryclinton.com
Probably one of the most knowledgeable Democratic presidential candidates with regard to health care reform, Hillary Clinton may also be the most cautious about releasing her plan — in part because of all the criticism she received in her earlier effort to reform the U.S. health care system in 1993-4. So far, she has outlined some principles that are generally popular with the public and other Democrats and says she will release more detailed information in September."
And they could not find their way to HR 676...they're right, not much has been reported in the press and not much in their report. Perhaps they are more into advocacy than research???
"Representative Dennis J. Kucinich (D)

While not much has been reported in the press about Dennis Kucinich and health care reform, his campaign website reports he introduced HR 676, which proposes:
• A universal health care plan called the United States National Health Insurance Program completely funded by the government."
