In appreciation of Rep. Barney Frank
Edited on Tue Aug-28-07 11:39 AM by JohnnyLib2

When you consider his openly gay status in light of the derision in the past 24 hours for Sen. Craig, he has amazing courage.

1. Senator Craig's hypocrisy is the reason for the derision you have
seen. I do, however, admire Representative Franks for his honesty.

3. .........and more importantly............HIS VOTES
Which seem to be in concert with how he lives his live.

It's the difference between integrity and hypocrisy.

4. And even *more* importantly... his intelligence and....
leadership.

Mind like a steel trap. Glad he's on our side.

2. Mr. Frank is not a pervert
Anyone who starts grabbing strangers in bathrooms is a pervert. Anyone who seduces teenagers at work is a pervert.

There are accepted behaviors in society. Being openly gay is an acceptable behavior, not perverted. I agree it does take courage, but the derision Senator Craig, Congressman Foley are suffering is well deserved and not because they are gay.

5. My derision of Craig is that which I have for ALL HYPOCRITES.
He has literally denied Gays and Lesbians of their humand rights with many of his votes, and insulted them with his public comments. F*ck the bastard.

But, having met Barney Frank many times over the years, and talked a bit to him, I will say he is one of the most honest, and "frank" politicians I have ever met. He is a sweetheart and a mensch, too. I admire him a lot.

6. Indeed.

But Frank has endured years and years of homophobic crap. Courage.

7. Well, then... that said... courageous he is!
I have nothing against agreeing to that, my friend. Who could ever forget Dick Armey's infamous "Barney Fag" slur?

Barney is the best!
