Simply say that he's considering running for president. He wouldn't have to change or anything but he would then be able to gauge his support by the HUGE groundswell of emails and letters he will instantly receive, virtually all in favor. It would do no harm just to say he's giving some thought to it.
if you read all the quotes, he has not said he doesn't want to run. He said he has no plans. There's a big difference. People are "clinging" to the possibility because HE has left it open. If he would say "I AM NOT RUNNING" then things would be different.
how much support there is. That's why I say it's time to just admit he's considering it and see what happens. then he'll know how much support there is.
5. The problem is the language. He can be attacked that way.
He is playing the media like a fiddle. If he says certain key words like 'considering'; then the door is open for attacks NOW. If he waits...they only have a few months to dig and throw dirt, as do the other candidates. The way he is doing it now is just pure unadulterated genius. The other candidates are tearing each other apart (or their trolls/followers are); and all the dirty work will be long under the table by the time he announces.
