The more we move ahead, the more decidedly undecided I become
Any of the candidates is basically okay with me. None of the candidates excite me. If the field stays the same or contracts, and one of them becomes the nominee, they'll get my support.

But I have no enthusiasm for any of them. And ya know what? All this internecine squabbling about pure, unmitigated, unadulterated, 100% pure bullshit makes me harden my undecidedness.

Maybe I'm paying too much attention.

I've never felt this way before. I always had a candidate.

My support for any one of them varies with the candidate. My lack of support for them is pretty much the same ..... it differs from one to the other. All of them have aspects that allow me to consider supporting them in the general. None of them have enough of what I want for me to support them in the primaries.

Have I grown too cynical? Too jaded?

I just don't know.

1. I'm right there with you.
I've been watching the primary race develop, tuning into the debates, reading the commentaries, and I still don't have any strong feelings about any of them. I suppose my least favorite is Hillary, but there are things about her that I do like, and I'd vote for her if she got the nomination. My favorite to date, I guess, is Edwards, but I'm not falling all over myself about him. All of them are OK; none of them lights my fire. I wish I could get excited enough about one of them to get involved in his/her campaign, but I just feel kind of... meh... about all of them.

That could change if Gore or Clark got in, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. So whatever enthusiasm I can muster for a candidate will probably be enthusiasm for defeating the Republican.

*sigh*

2. I approximate your feeling, but I have a measure of enthusiasm for ALL of them.
My glass is half full, I guess.

If Gore jumps in, though--I go with him, and my glass is topped off!!!

I also don't care for the pure bullshit. What it does do, though, is make me question the honesty of the person who is, with full knowledge, posting the pure bullshit. There's nothing wrong with disagreeing about factual matters of genuine policy or stance, but when people LIE to pull someone down (and by association, I suppose, lift their chosen one up--or so they foolishly believe) all it does is reflect badly on them.

Cynical? Jaded? Naaaaah. Just tired of the bullshit. Aren't we all?

3. Gore would excite a lot of us.
Unfortunately his time to jump in is about out, so I'm not expecting it.

I could vote for any of the contenders in the general election though.

4. I think we are all shell-shocked.
I just keep looking ahead, one foot in front of the other, and hope we make the right choice.

Hope you are well. :hi:

5. Early in the election
With months left until the primaries, I've never been this excited about a candidate.

My candidate is trailing 24% in primary polls. He is winning no states. He is largely ignored by the Democratic party. But he has a track record that is pristine and golden. He has charisma and character that beats Obama's audacity any day.

I don't care if Obama's partying like a rock star. I'm partying for strength through peace and campaigning for Kucinich in Obama Country, IL, this fall.
