Here's the email Karen Thurman, Florida chair, just sent to bombard the DNC
I am so very furious with all of them. I hate our Democrats here.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
As Chair of your State Party, I will go before the Rules & Bylaws Committee of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) on Saturday to fight to preserve Florida's full and diverse representation in the presidential primary process.

Under the Rules, the DNC has the authority to slash the delegate voting power of states that hold unauthorized presidential primaries prior to February 5, 2008, essentially making their votes meaningless. Because the Republican-controlled state Legislature moved our state's primary to January 29, 2008, Florida Democrats may be subject to severe penalties.

On Saturday, we will make our case to the DNC. I'm going to fight to have Florida's votes counted, but in reality, I'm only one out of more than four million Florida Democrats. The DNC really needs to hear from people like you.

Can you take just a few moments to tell the DNC why you believe it should make Florida count? I'm going to take your messages - and your voices in spirit - with me to Washington. The meeting is Saturday morning, so get your comments in by Friday at 5 PM.

As you may recall, we've had success in the past when your voice was heard, such as when Democratic legislators read your comments on the floor of the Florida Senate in the heat of the class-size debate in 2006. We succeeded then because of your support, and I have faith that your action now will help make the difference.

You have the power. Tell DNC Chairman Howard Dean and the Rules & Bylaws Committee how important it is that Florida's votes be counted on January 29. I truly believe they will listen.

Florida Democrats must stand together and demand that our votes be counted. In this discussion, there is nothing more important than making sure that Florida Democrats are not disenfranchised.

Our state has seen far too much of this in the past: the 2000 election debacle, eligible voters purged from the voting rolls based on race, Black voters intimidated at the polls, 18,000 votes vanishing because of touch screen machines in 2006, the list goes on and on.

Send a message right now. There's no time to waste.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication.

Sincerely,

Congresswoman Karen L. Thurman
Chair, Florida Democratic Party

P.S. Send me your comments right now, and be sure to forward this email to your friends, neighbors and families. Please don't put this off. Thank you again.

Florida is breaking the rules, the DNC is not.

They are pushing this way too far.

1. Here's the background if you missed it.

This is such a turning point for me for some reason. All week the Democrats have voted with Bush. Now this.

2. And the worst part is...it's all a nasty power play to give Hillary a boost.

11. What About Alcee Hastings... Wasn't Someone Just Praising Him
before the break?? Florida has been so HI-JACKED! Never liked Bill Nelson much, and even visited his office when I went to D.C. and asked about the Christine Jennings race. THEY said they were "fighting" for her all the way!

What a load of crap! Still, Jennings used to be a Repuke, but she did change! Wonder how she feels now!

4. Do Democrats and Republicans have to hold their contests on the same day?
Why can't the Democrats wait to award delegates until a later date? County Convention maybe?

5. Because they are mounting a confrontational attack.
Because they want to do it their way. I believe there is a lot more to the story that will come out.

6. So the State of the Democratic Party and the State Central Committee
COULD choose to hold their delegate selection on a date that wouldn't break the DNC rules - they just let the Republican controlled legislature dictate what they'll do? But, since they don't want to be 'punished' by the DNC they'll call on Florida Democrats to plead their case to the DNC. Seems that's quite a cop-out.

9. Thurman neglects to mention
That a Democrat sponsored the legislation to move the date up.

As was said earlier, it's a power play to get Hillary the nomination, and try to undermine Howard Dean.

12. Democrats COULD follow the rules in place IF they wanted to
blaming the big bad republicans doesn't fool anybody.

what I thought. Emails don't get read unless you "sign up" for something or unless you send money!

Guess I'll have to UN SUBSCRIBE now! Everywhere I turn here in Florida it's something new (or old) all over again! We're still are having Electronic Voting machines problems here!!

8. My letter to Chairman Dean.
Dear Chairman Dean,

It's come to my attention that Florida Democratic Chairwoman Karen Thurman will be appearing before your Bylaws committee on Saturday.

Could you please snatch her with a big butterfly net, put her in a straight jacket, and throw her in a broom closet until her term is expired. And if Debbie Wasserman-Shultz should happen to show up, kindly put some duct tape over her big fucking mouth, and explain to her, that since she's supposed to be running "Turn Florida Blue", to kindly stop saying kind things about Republican incumbents in the middle of an election campaign. And maybe assist some Democratic candidates, other than recently converted Republicans.

If someone shows up claiming to be Bill Nelson, check under his head and verify that it's not a Joe Lieberman clone with a mask. Well, never mind in his case. You couldn't tell the difference anyway.

Sincerely,
Dr. Phool
