Biden airs ad in Iowa outlining plan for Iraq
WASHINGTON (AP) - Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is airing his first campaign ads in Iowa, casting himself as the only candidate with a viable strategy for a sustainable peace in Iraq.

In the 30-second spot, Biden describes how a soldier's remains accompanied him on the flight back after Biden's latest trip to Iraq.

He says the flag-draped coffin turned the cargo bay of the plane into a cathedral and all he could think of was the parents waiting at the other end.

He says the war must be ended in a way that doesn't require more soldiers being sent to Iraq.

The ad doesn't specify what Biden's plan is, but Biden has called for partitioning Iraq into three semiautonomous regions for Kurds, Shiites and Sunnis under a central government.

1. The AP picked a funny headline. Outlining? More like obliquely referring
To the plan, that is, because the plan sure wasn't detailed in those 30 seconds according to the text...

How condescendingly imperial of us. No, it's their country and they divide it as they wish. Past time for us to go.

3. It's gonna divide that way anyway
whether or not we wield the partitioning knives.

Not sure if we lessen the slaughter or not by trying to hurry up the process.

4. Not necessarily. And there is the imponderable presence
of Turkey.
