Hillary Clinton grinds gears of the right wing to a halt.
There has been plenty of attention focused on the new ad called "Invisible" that the Hillary Clinton campaign has put out on the air waves recently. In it she speaks of those in America who have become invisible in the eyes of our President. It was a well deserved poke in the eye to a George Bush who has absolutely no empathy for his own people who are suffering greatly due to his policies and war. Needless to say, it didn't take long for the White House to react.

Deputy Press Secretary, Dana Perino, attacked Hillary and made a ridiculous assertion that President Bush "has helped seniors across the country to have prescription drugs at a low cost." I won't even argue the lack of merit in that statement at this time.

Hillary was quick to respond, much like the rapid response that her husband was so great at when he ran for President. She said, "Apparently I've struck a nerve. The White House just attacked me a few minutes ago," Clinton said. "Not only have I said it and am saying it, I will keep saying it because I happen to believe it."

You go girl!!!

But that isn't all...the best is yet to come! While digging around looking for a little more info, I came across this incident which happened at the National Association of Black Journalists Presidential Forum Thursday, in Las Vegas, Nevada. While on stage, Hillary Clinton was taking questions from the audience. The question came from a man who's name was Kiara Ashanti, and it came in the form of the typical right wing rhetoric. Ashanti asked why she was "pushing socialized medicine". He added, “Why are you still insisting upon moving that system in here when particularly it will hurt African American communities more than anyone else?”

2. I'll say this about Hillary: She fights back hard. Keep it up, lady. We won't win without that ...
...kind of strength.

For all the bellyaching here about her personality and politics, if there's one thing I've learned from the last two presidential elections it's this:

The GOP no longer knows the meaning of a fair fight. They are run by rabid attack dogs. Once they bite, if they aren't beaten back IMMEDIATELY, they and their toadies in the MSM will pile on until they bring a person down and destroy them.

Swift Boats, anyone? Purple Heart bandaids, anyone? Invented the Internets, anyone?

Kill 'em, Hillary.

Hekate

5. It is too bad that she is DLC, if triangulation worked I might even vote for her
But history has shown that Triangulation is a recipe for disaster.

10. She may well be, but if she wins it will revive the Republican power base
Look forward to losing the house and senate in 2010 if she wins, and then we all know what comes after that. Democrats have never been good at learning from history.

14. The results have been pretty clear on what happens when Dem's run to the middle
History has a habit of repeating itself, I would rather repeat 2006 then 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2004. In 2008 we will be able to run against Bush and the Iraq war so it should be an easy win, but in 2010 if we go down the path of triangulation again we will be right back to the bad old days.

You don't need a crystal ball to know your shit. Try reading some post on DU from before we invaded Iraq, unless of course you think we all had crystal balls.

If you are down by 5 at half time and only lose by 2 points you still lose, in a two party system the same rules apply.

19. No, the results aren't clear.
Why did the New Dems and Blue Dogs add almost as many members as the Progressive Caucus in 2006 if running to the middle was such a costly move historically?

Why did a kinder gentler GOP(iow running to the center) promising reform and term limits win in 1994?

IOW, simply saying running to the middle hurt the Democrats in the last 2 decades doesn't make it so.

8. Good for her
I heard the White House tried their faux outrage maneuver. I was sure hoping she wouldn't cave in. Glad to see she didn't.

9. Great to see her not taking it.

Love THIS line from Hillary ... “I don't know who you are. But you come introduce yourself to my staff and we will try to give you some information if you're interested in being educated instead of being rhetorical.”

17. Nonsense! Like Cheney, Hillary supports the bombing of Iran
This faux tit-for-tat between Hillary and the White House is the result of a carefully orchestrated campaign to make Hillary appear as the champion to the Democratic rank-and-file. The Republicans together with their DLC counterparts don't want the anger of the American people to be translated into real change at the polls in November next year. So they all go to great lengths to make sure that the nominees of the both major parties will not rock the boat, and that any changes in the status quo is on the margins.

The last thing the ruling class wants is substantive and material changes in the status quo. For example, they will seduce us with a "universal" health insurance, which is really not universal and will be out of reach for many Americans. Real change would be to ditch the current system altogether and adopt a single payer health care system.
