Clinton says Bush waged 'insidious campaign against science'
By Lisa Leff
ASSOCIATED PRESS

5:56 p.m. August 10, 2007

SAN FRANCISCO – Sen. Hillary Clinton said Friday that if elected president she would work to reverse “a very insidious campaign against science” waged by the Bush administration on issues such as stem cell research, global warming and human evolution.

Visiting the future site of a science education center that's being billed as the world's most environmentally friendly museum, Clinton argued that the executive branch has put ideology over evidence at the expense of the nation's health and economic viability.

“Scientists have been muzzled. Information has been taken off government-sponsored Web sites. The leaders of our country have dismissed scientific research and advancements,” Clinton said. “They have denied the factual basis of so much that we take for granted.”

Clinton, D-N.Y. made her remarks after touring the Golden Gate Park site of the California Academy of Sciences, which is scheduled to open next year with a recycled steel frame and a roof outfitted with solar panels and native plants. She greeted a group of construction workers and marveled at building insulation made out of old blue jeans.

1. Thanks for the heads-up, Senator Obvious . . .

There are at least a few of us who were already well aware of this fact.

Still, much to her credit, she and Patty Murry did put holds on von Eschenbach's nomination to FDA.

Of course, that didn't keep him from becoming commissioner . . . .

3. In related breaking news, Hillary also thinks that Bush handled the war poorly.
These "centrist" DEMS are damn good at locking barn doors after the horses are stolen, that's for sure.

2. I'm just asking- what Action(s) as a Senator has she taken to combat this?
Vocally (AKA on TV where everyone can see it) demanding the resignation of some of his science related appointments might be a start.

Has she done this or something similar?
