Who will our Republican opponent be: Giuliani or Romney?
Edited on Sun Aug-12-07 11:18 PM by calteacherguy
Thompson has dropped out, and McCain is dead in the water, so who will it be?

National Giuliani + 10.0
Iowa Romney + 9.8
New Hampshire Romney + 9.2
South Carolina Giuliani + 2.7
Florida Giuliani + 4.2

Also open for discussion...who do you think it would be easiest for us to run against and why?

1. I'm not sure it matters ...
When the choices for the bible thumpers down south boil down to a cross-dresser and a Mormon ... I predict record low turnouts. Heck we may even split the religious conservative vote. ;)

2. IMO, it's either Romney or Fred Thompson
Tommy Thompson is the one that has dropped out and he never stood a chance.

The question about Fred Thompson is whether he's really interested in doing the work needed to campaign.

4. Do you really believe
that there is no dirt in the Thompson hollywood file. I have to guess that Larry Flynt is salivating at the chance to get him.

7. How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?
In short, I don't care who they select. It's more or less out of our control.

I care more about who we select as our candidate.

9. I think a Sam Brownback-Pete Rose ticket would be good for the GOP.
Should attract an interesting demographic for town meetings.

10. I think Giuliani will win their primaries, but through GOP magic...
...Romney will be their 2008 candidate.

11. Neither One
These guys are not acceptable candidates for the GOP, for many reasons. Picking one of these guys is equivalent to sitting out the election.

There have to be some smart people in the GOP who can find a candidate their base will at least accept.

12. It won't be Rudy. His wife will be his biggest hurdle. Technically
she's his former MISTRESS.
