Crossfire: Did I Hear Right? Kerry A Traitor (Cliff May)
While this moran was getting his ears pinned back by James Carville badly, first trying to equate *'s getting out of the NG 8 months early with Kerry's "4 months on the ground" in Nam (Carville slammed home the 3 PURPLE HEARTS)...then in desperation, May said something to the effect that Kerry then came back and was a traitor (through his VWVAW activities).

How much longer do we put up with this tripe before we start exposing each and every one of these Chickenhawk's military records?

4. Here's the real deal:
Edited on Mon Feb-16-04 04:53 PM by displacedtexan
When JK testified before congress after he came back from Vietnam, he quoted stories his fellow soldiers had given him to read during the hearings about the horrors of war.

The repukes have tried to brand JK as a traitor for 35 years by accusing him of calling his comrades war criminals.

Basic spin cycle.

Read JK's book for the particulars.

9. Just saw Max Cleland this afternoon and he talked about this very thing.
Edited on Mon Feb-16-04 05:47 PM by Kerryfan
They are ready for them. Don't worry.

He is supposed to be on Hardball with another of the men Kerry saved on his swift boat, but Cleland says you never know with Matthews. Some times they change at the last minute.

5. Let the GOP advocate for the Vietnam War
Let them tell the masses that it was their kind of war. Let them say it's the kind of war they could support now. Let them say that anyone who opposed the Vietnam War is a traitor. That's their true colors, using other people's kids lives. Be honest GOP, and tell the American people you have more Vietnams and Iraqs in mind in a second Bush term. Then let the people decide if that's what they want. I support Kerry in great part because he came back and led opposition to that war, but I am most definitely ABB.

20. A Great Point...Tar Them With Both Wars!!!
I don't know about Mr. May or the other Chickenhawks, but I can remember how unpopular Vietnam was with virtually everyone under the age of 30 by 1971...and the overall disgust this nation had with those that advocated continuing the war.

A lot of Repugs give themselves cover on this by saying "we were Democrats then"...as if had they been fat and rich then, instead of possible draft fodder, they would have taken a stand in favor of the war. Yeah, right.

What scares the like of May and other "spinners" is they know they're losing this battle big time and they're not used to it. They're accustomed to getting the first shot and the last word and with little accountability. Now, with goober's military non-record so obvious they must divert divert, divert.

The good thing is the more we hammer these bastards with their own lies and force them to come clean...or back up their charges...the weaker they become. They're far from defanged...but I see them very vulnerable now to be marginalized or even nulified in the months ahead.

6. Surprise, Surprise!
Wouldn't you just love to have Sen. Kerry backstage for moments like this. He could walk out and say, "Repeat that to my face, Cliffy."

Not only wouldn't he have the guts to say it, they'd have to scrub his chair for weeks to get it usable again.

:kick:

7. Talk about revisionist history.
Like I'm sure everyone just loved the war and were all for it at the time we got out.

12. About that "8 months early"
I found something the other day that explains why Bush's service records show his service being from May, `68 to Nov. `74. Most people have assumed that that was simply time tacked on for not showing up for drills.

Not so. When he applied for flight training, he guaranteed that he would be flying for five years upon completion of basic flight training. He completed basic flight in Nov., `69. Five years from that date would be Nov., `74.

That means he was effectively released from ANG duty fourteen months early, since he was already attending Harvard in September, `73. Or, more conservatively, thirteen months from the date of his discharge in Oct., `73.

And, it means he actually avoided flying for thirty-one months of that five-year commitment beginning in Nov., `69.

Nice to have friends in high places... like Poppy.

17. Cliff May is cheerleader for war.
He is the one who predicted, last year, a joyous and warm welcome by Iraqis: dancing in the streets and throwing flowers at our troops. I would very much like to know what he did during the Vietnam war. Here is how you can research the draft lottery as it applies to these warmongers: if the birth date is 1950 or prior, the 1970 draft lottery might apply (drawn in Dec 1969). Birth date 1n 1951 would indicate the 1971 lottery (drawing in 1970). Birth date in 1952 , the 1972 lottery, drawn in 1971. Then look up the calendar table at www.sss.gov Or maybe Cliff settled things before the lotteries began.

18. they're just getting warmed up
and this is the stuff that's easy to refute. There's no way to deny Kerry's impressive military record.

His voting record, however, will be easy to impugn.
