2012 Election?
I didn't catch the end of the Debate, but my friends swear up and down that Kucinich said that when he's President the Republicans would so love him that they'd cede the 2012 Elections to him. I'm paraphrasing obviously, as I didn't actually hear him say it, but is this basically true? For such a big event, I doubt very much that happened, but my friends aren't dishonest, let's-make-sh*t-up types. But something happened because the people in my group who found themselves impressed with his performance last night immediately went back to "the guy's an unelectable nut job" land.

I do hope I'm wrong, but, if it did happen, could someone explain the context and the ... I don't know. I guess the "why" of it?

Thank you.

1. In was in response to elections becoming longer
KO was asking each of them if they thought it was a problem that races start so early that, effectively, the next pres. race will start the day after the election. Kucinich was the last to answer, last question of the debate. All the others didn't see a problem with it. Kucinich said something to the effect that he would be such a good pres. that no one would want to oppose him in 2012. It was a joke, and got laughs.

2. thank you
I guess my friends don't quite share his sense of humor as they thought he was a bit off-his-rocker or delusional. But I appreciate your response and your willingness to put it in context for me. Thanks again. And that was a good question! :-)
