Poll question: Will Drudge divulge (or in this case, blame) his source?
Now that Matt has once again proven himself to be a reliable shill for the RW, an unreliable source for information, and an unexpected source for back-up material for DU flame wars, will he spill the beans and blame the person or persons who provided him with this 'story'?

1. At this moment
Drudge is desperately trying to find a way to blame the entire episode on the democratic party.

It's called a two-fer........print rubbish (that's one) and then tag your opponents with the responsibility (that's two-fer)

5. Blamed it on Clark

He already blamed it on Clark. The profound lack of reason among these guys is mind blowing.

Drudge is a tool.

Besides, journalists never divulge their sources. It's the first thing they teach you in Journalism 101 (or in my case, Communication 275). If you divulge your source, you lose sources. When you lose and run out of sources, you become a RW hack. :)

3. To be fair, I'm far from a journalist
I'm not really so concerned about "facts" or "accuracy" or "truth" or "honesty". I'm really more about money for advertising rates, and electing leaders that will see to it that I never face a libel suit.

However, that said, I would like to reveal my source for this story:

It was Jesus Christ Himself.

14. The goofy look on your face doesn't help, either.
Just a friendly word of advice.

9. Drudge is a gossip queen.

Drudge picks up any old gossip and prints it. He pretends like he's some great muckracker like Greg Palast.

The truth is, that even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Though, I think the broken clock has a higher accuracy rate than Drudge.

Drudge is the first step in a long chain of the GOP echo chamber. Because he actually publishes unsubstantiated gossip, the next higher level can REPORT that he prints unsubstantiated gossip. The next higher level are the Scaife rags and Mooney's RPI service. Then it goes to Faux News since "the papers are reporting it". Then finally, it makes it's way onto CNN.

This is how the "Clinton trashes White House" story got into print. NONE of it was even remotely true. But if it can get into the echo chamber, then the right wing media can report that SOMETHING was reported. That's good enough for them as long as they're smearing Democrats.

Isn't it wonderful when Larry Flynt and Hustler have higher journalistic standards then the Washington Times. (Flynt bought the Jessica Lynch topless photos in order to keep them OUT of print).

11. I posted this mostly in jest. I think we all agree that Drudge isn't
going to take responsibility for this.
