The day Dean drops out of the race, corporate media goes after Kerry.
Dean has made it clear that he hates media consolidation and as President would strongly advocate against it and for reregulation.

Corporate media has given Kerry a free ride so far to protect against even the slightest possibility of a Dean resurgence. They are chomping at the bit to cut Kerry down to size, but they can't jump on Kerry with both feet until Dean's campaign is safely consigned to the trash heap.

1. Yes they gave him a free ride
Which is why his campaign was dead before Iowa and why Jane Fonda was on the news last week regarding the internet pics and the Hanoi Jane stories. It is why BOTOX was covered on CNN and why the intern story was covered.

No one seems to give any notice to what was and is being done to Kerry. Maybe it's because he doesn't whine. Go, John!

4. The media hasn't touched Kerry. Nor will they until they put the last
nail in Dean's coffin.

3. Boxtox, Jane Fonda and the intern story have gotten almost no play.
Yes, thay are all bullshit non-issues. However, Dean was hammered over and over and over for simply telling the truth about Saddam and the caucus system and saying people deserve to be tried before they're executed.

8. Wrong
Kerry's been given no free ride. What about Dean's "special interest" attacks on Kerry? They were given a lot of press. If you think Kerry hasn't been criticized, you haven't been paying close attention. He's been able to withstand it so far; Dean, however, was not.

10. Actually that's not quite accurate.
There has been more time spent accusing Dean of aiding the GOP with the special interests charge than criticism of Kerry himself over it.

Kerry's been criticised, but it's been love-taps comparatively speaking. Once Dean is out it will be about a hundred times uglier, just like everything Dean has been through over the past month and is still going through.

11. The media has reported the fact the Dean & Bush are attacking Kerry.
That's not the same as attacking Kerry themselves.

If you don't think Kerry's gotten a free ride so far, you are in for one rude awakening if and when Dean drops out.

5. I think that's a fair analysis
And Dean should hang in there for that reason.

6. I tell this to everybody.
If you are going to whine about the media, you don't deserve to win.

The entire premise is paradoxical nonsense. If the media controls everything, we can never win. While if we have a shot at it, the media doesn't control everything.

If Dean can't survive the primaries, he sure as hell wouldn't have any chance against Bush. It's amazing how Dean's problems are never his fault but the media's, the DLC's, the party "establishment's," his advisers', etc.

12. Corporate media doesn't control everything, but it's a very powerful
force.

If you deny this, you might as well deny that water is wet.
