Two thoughts crossed my mind:

1. Matt Drudge is a much less reliable source than a dead plant.

2. I followed the 1992 race intently, even though I was 9 at the time. I would distinctly remember the press feeding on a story like this, where instead I heard names like Gennifer Flowers being talked about non-fucking-stop.
