1. Americans have short attention spans, and limited memories.
Everything lately has been the bridge...the bridge...the bridge...

And Lohan's back in detox...again...

Just wait for the next round of high American casualties in Iraq, or the next car bomb that kills 200 people, and everything will change again.

2. Yep...saw that earlier today and it's because M$M isn't reporting the Latest about Iraq Bombs
Killing Children North of Iraq and in other areas where our troops fired on innocent civilians who were just guarding their homes.

Without REAL NEWS who will know? The RW'ers have filtered news and with Chimp shutting down MSNBC..(Scooter Defense Fund Dan Abrams/Tucker) and CNN(AIPAC is your firend) then WHO is left to tell the truth of anything?

10. I"m not surprised
Its summer. People pay less attention to the news. And what news they see seems to indicate a drop in US fatalities. Is that due to the surge? Of course not, but people don't pay that much attention. Things "seem better" because they're not hearing about helicopter crashes and mortars dropping on the Green Zone as often as they did a couple of months ago. What's different? A lot of things, but the one that sticks in their mind -- especially when its part of the question -- is the surge.

What is notable, however, is that the percentage of those surveyed that want the troops home hasn't declined appreciably. And I don't think that's going to change.

12. Another victory for Pelosi & Reid
Now we can look forward to a minimum of 12 more months of bloodletting in Iraq.

Thank you Nancy and Harry!

15. A combination of factors is the reason.
First, as someone said it is summer time. The public seems to pay less attention in the summer. Second, it is in large part because the Democratic Party isn't hammering Bush on it. They aren't making it an issue, and since they rolled over media outlets like Fox are able to manipulate the public perception.

It is hard to get your message out. It is even harder when you are not really trying.

Fox is telling people, "Things are getting better! The Surge is working!" And the public isn't hearing a counter point to the argument because our side of the isle is mostly silent.

17. Sell what people want to buy
And Americans always want to buy a win.

I bet 90% of Americans don't even know the VISA vote happened, and if they do, don't know what it means.

But we need to keep screaming at Nancy Pelosi - that'll fix everything.
