Poll question: How Are *You* Going To Change Government?
Iraq War... Job-obliterating 'free' trade... warrantless wiretaping...

Everybody talks about how bad it is. What will YOU do to change it?

1. Take it to the streets...
If one thing is to be learned from history, its that political parties and politicians don't do SHIT. They have to be pressured, from the outside, to do the right thing. Being inherently corrupt, they must be guided by popular movements to do what we want. Think of the Anti-slavery movement, Civil rights movement, and the anti-war movements, in addition to the labor struggles and activism that has been a benchmark of change in this country. This is what must be done, we cannot hope to outspend the corporate interests who dominate the politics of the United States, we must take a different approach.

5. Unfortunately, the "streets" will remain peaceful because not enough
Americans are willing to risk our comfortable lifestyles to do what is necessary.

The day of political leaders is long gone. We only have contributors to and supporters of the regime.

6. This isn't something that can happen overnight...
It can take decades, just like it did in the past, in some cases even longer, the point is to get the ball rolling, then its own momentum increases the pressure.

7. The People can't AFFORD to take to the streets
We, the People, live paycheck to paycheck and can't afford to take time-off for even single protests. we can't afford to pay for the gas to drive to DC. We definately can't afford to take off unspecified amounts of time to march and scream and throw wrenches into it all, until change comes. We just make enough to keep our bellies full, and buy cheap chinese shit and watch mindless tv. And, that is enough to keep the masses complacent. We are all pissed about it, but aren't aware of the seriousness of it, yet. If the masses knew what is at stake, and what HAS been done in OUR name, and that We the People, have no real say in the actions of our "elected representatives"; then we would all understand that one day soon the next paycheck won't matter. The comforts will be gone. We will be living in a Police State. And OUR government will have declared war on US.

If the masses understood this, We would act.

8. Voting is not enough anymore
Voting is one of those "checks" that have been rendered useless. Along with The Legislative Branch, The Judicial Branch, The Media, An Opposition Party, Elections.

These checks have failed because of the extravagance of the Crimes of this outfit. It went unchecked for too long, and now the last check is : YOU.

At what point do you and I and the other average Americans stand up and realize that no one is stopping this? And that I am the next in line. We bitch and moan about the weakness of the dems in congress. When do we realize that they had their turn to correct this, we gave them our support, they failed. THey either couldn't or wouldn't save our country.

Friends, Patriots, we are next in line.
