Obama outpacing Clinton in Wisconsin fundraising by 24%
From a Wisconsin non-partisan batcave report (I can't link it due to release stipulations):

Hillary Clinton:
While most of the activity is in next-door Iowa, Hillary Clinton's campaign in Wisconsin is moving along nicely, say HRC fans who also like her national poll numbers (however, she's in a virtual three-way tie among likely Iowa caucus-goers with Barack Obama and John Edwards).

Clinton this week signed up Madison U.S. Rep. Tammy Baldwin as co-chair -- a coup considering Baldwin was sought after by others for her leadership on gay-lesbian and health care issues. Baldwin's support, along with fellow co-chair Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton, also arguably sews up two of the top liberal female political figures in the state.

But Clinton lags far behind Obama in Wisconsin fundraising, according to recent FEC figures. Obama, D-Ill., raised $218,657 in Wisconsin from April to the end of June; Obama has raised $291,433 for the entire first half of 2007. Clinton, D-New York, raised $34,410 in the second quarter from Wisconsinites, pushing her haul from the state for the first half to $69,560.

Obama and Edwards supporters maintain Hillary's nomination is far from inevitable.

Obama continues to outpace all other candidates by wide margins. I wonder what the other states are reporting.

2. Clinton was born and lived in Chicago, Illinois
Maybe you didn't know that.

She was born on the same birthday as Pat Sajak, October 26, 1947 in Chicago.

6. Thanks
I'm guessing it's name recognition.

We'll see what happens in the first four states in the primary season.

7. So when will Obamas Name recognition kick in?
After he loses? Seems to me the more recognition he gets the worse he does in polls.

8. Here's what I think
Coming from someone who's been in the streets with voters and such, most people are undecided on who they will support. Once we get past Labor Day and usually as a benchmark, after the World Series, people start paying attention to the issues, the candidates and how it will all play out.

As the primary season starts getting closer (the first state, Iowa, votes in 5 months, 8 days as of today), people will see the campaign in full swing. Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina results will put the candidates who can win or place second in full view. By most polls, Obama and Clinton are now tied in those states for the most part. I know the Obama campaign is fully organized and has lots of financial and ground support in those states.

We'll see what happens. Again, 5 months from the first votes is practically political infinity.

11. Yeah...a case of the ol' yunno yunno...
I can't wait until the primary season. I'm confident Obama will win. It's funny to see the arrogance from a certain camp so far...
