In a little more than a year from now, China will be starting their Olympic
moment...

I don't know about you, but I am personally going to boycott these games...

There is no way that China, by still allowing slave labor, unsafe working conditions and no regulation for consumer protection, deserves the goodwill that will come from the event...

I will not buy any product sponsoring or frequent any establishment that advertises on this centuries version of a Potemkin Village...

We know it's all about money and opening up markets, but China is the black hole of freedom right now and should not be rewarded for dumping tainted food in the US and other markets while foisting inferior products where ever they can be exported...

And this administration should be taken to task for allowing so many dangerous products into this country...

And please don't tell me about the athletes and the purity of the games...

That disappeared long ago...

The Olympics have become an orgy of narcissism bundled inside of patriotic zeal and marketed like it was some grand ideal of amatuerism...

Well, maybe for the Archery team...

1. Perhaps you need to take a trip to China as I have.
If you talked to the people there you would have a different opinion. They have come a long way since gaining their freedom from foreign domination. Like us they will never reach perfection.

2. I agree....the Chinese are very proud of what they have accomplished
in the past 20 years...and rightfully so. They are an amazing people with an incredible work ethic, a desire to make a better life for themselves and their children and they have a sincere desire to be part of the 21st century, living life on the same level that they see elsewhere in the world. The government may have their shortcomings, but the Chinese people are not our enemies.

Funny, the Taiwanese people I've met are incredibly arrogant and militaristic. If there was an Asian Freeperland, that'd be the place.

Everyday people do not equal a good government. Take a look at our own country for an example.

China:

- Extreme reaganomics

- Persecution of Falun Gong

- The casual use of the death penalty

- Putting gays in clinics

So much for world peace after Imperial Washington collapses.

The government does not fit the people...
