Edited on Mon Feb-16-04 05:24 AM by rumguy
If he didn't say this would not he have come forward by now to correct the allegation? Would that not be the normal human response? Wouldn't Polier have come forward? WTF is going on?

Why is the American media sitting on this story? If it is true, it should come out now, so the voters can decide.

1. Am I having deja vu, or did someone

post a thread with the exact same header before?

Is that an article title or something?

4. Bullshit...this woman exists, where the fuck is she?
If Hillary Clinton were running for prez, and stories were being circulated AROUND THE WORLD that I had been her lover I would be damn sure I came out and corrected the record.

5. She's in Kenya with her fiance.
Probably discussing book and movie deals.

Here's the thing: if she doesn't want to talk, and he doesn't want to talk, and his wife and her fiance don't want to talk....what is there to talk about?

They're getting married. Every couple can use a nest egg. And they have those killer Columbia loans to pay off...

Make her an offer. See what she says.

21. Really? You'd want to be swamped by the swarming press attention
that would most certainly follow your "correction"?

Think about it. As rabid as the media is, the only way to avoid getting mobbed is to not talk about it in the first place. Otherwise, plan on being followed by dozens of reporters every day until some other story attracts their attention.

....I've heard people say "hey, let's make some shit up, like my sister slept with the other guy!" This has just a bit more floating around than can just be dismissed outright, I agree. It needs to be shut down or we need to know before nomination.

10. you're making a very dangerous assumption
The Sun, owned by Rupert Murdoch, frequently fabricates quotes and is unworthy of belief. Why would this woman's family, terrified about having her reputation smeared, openly talk to a British tabloid and stoke the fire to this story by calling Kerry a sleazeball? It defies logic. If the father was talking, why did he only talk to The Sun? If I was this woman, and my father would talk to a British tabloid making a remark like that, I'd likely unleash a verbal tirade on him and probably not talk to him for a long time.

11. That's plausible, but another plausible scenario is this
that Kerry pursued this father's daughter rather relentlessly or crudely, but she did not reciprocate, and now the father is concerned that his daughter is going to be accused of having an affair she did not have or that she's making up a story to get $ or something else. Maybe he's afraid one of her friends has talked to the press and that she is being smeared. So he wants the family's "side" of the story out there in a possibly misguided attempt to protect his daughter.

Again, I have no way of knowing the truth, but it is just as unfair to assume that the father is behaving badly as it is to assume it of Kerry, or that because it doesn't add up to you (when looked at another way, it could definitely add up), that it can't be true.

17. Calling someone a sleazeball is HARDLY evidence of an affair
Puhleeze! Her dad ALSO said there was NO AFFAIR!

The American media isn't touching it because it's unsubstantiated crap.

Perhaps it is time to consider that the story is NOT true. Kerry has denied it. There's nothing but unreliable right wing sources pumping the story. There's more reason to believe Kerry or that it's not true than there is to believe it is true.

Time to give this a rest already. It isn't growing legs.

19. People on DU Carrying Rove's Water is Sad
In my opinion, your post and your signature contradict each other.

Five days after a rumor is posted on Drudge and DU posters are using flawed logic and the UK Sun to keep this story going. Sad. Maybe her father has motives all his own. Why would he even comment to the media? Wouldn't the natural reaction be to protect his daughter from the glare of exposure. Calling Kerry a "sleazeball," if true, would not exactly accomplish this. What is going on?

Clinton a few years back. The dad, like Cong. Dan Burton, is just spouting off as any right wing jackass would do.
