Why IS Ann The Man so obsessed with Edwards?
The guy isn't even the frontrunner. He's been stalled in third place for months now(not meant as a slam on Edwards, just pointing out his current political situation).

Why does the Coultergeist trash him and Elizabeth to the exclusion of everybody else?

Weird, even for her.

Edwards is the one candidate the GOP fears.

And the vote theft is only covered in a few states to my understanding?

who is a strong person and has everything that Ann says she stands for--a loving family, a good husband.

Edited to add: Elizabeth Edwards has class, too--something Ann lacks.

BTW, I'm a Kucinich supporter, but I admire Elizabeth Edwards.

10. I second your final sentence.
And there was no more disgusting spectacle than that of the right-wing pundits attacking John Edwards for NOT withdrawing from the race after Elizabeth's cancer had recurred.

9. My theory is that as she was trained as a lawyer, she recognises
his legalistic approach to the politics and it scares her. She doesn't worry about Clinton because she knows the GOP has her set up for a fall. She doesn't worry about Obama because she knows the Hillary wing of the DLC will destroy him to ensure Hillary's nomination. Edwards would be the one who would be left standing if the Clinton/Obama fight cripples them both.

Just my opinion.

22. And he made it to the finals, last time, albeit as a veep candidate.
He was a huge asset to the Kerry campaign. I think that adds to his power and, in Coulter's mind, to the likelihood that he could become a real threat.

"Why can't I ever get it on with the good guys."

She likes her some John Edwards. She probably called him a "faggot" because she knows he wouldn't be impressed by her bony 47-year-old legs -- unlike the desperate "Grovers" she sells her books to.

He speaks to the little guy and they are afraid if the little guy gets a voice it could end their rein of terror.
He is the one they have chosen to attack first, if they are able to force him out of the race, who will be next?

21. She is attracted to him sexually...
Simple projection (in the psychological sense). She is repulsed by the fact that she is physically (and uncontrollably) attracted to him, so she lashes out about his sexuality because she is too underdeveloped emotionally to handle her feelings. Guessing that she is a type A personality, she says the outrageous stuff to get noticed by John.

25. Oh, I'm sure she's a chick
As a member of the female persuasion myself, don't think I take any pleasure outta claiming her as one of us.(She's also a Sagittarius like me, Newtie, Tweety, and WF Buckley. Makes me almost not believe in astrology)

As for the Adam's apple, my explanation is that she's soooo totally Ann-o-rexic that her hormones got screwed up and unbalanced and the testosterone has taken over. Not kidding: many anorexic women quit getting periods, have to shave and get hair all over their bodies. Also, as anyone of us in menopause can attest, unbalanced hormones mess up your brain chemistry and make you say and do all sorts of things you might have once been able to restrain.

So that could be it. Or she could just be a spiteful, self-hating witch who would be the same no matter what her gender is.

27. Yes...
it is as simple as that. Her "f**" comments about Edwards are, emotionally, no different than when you see a third grade boy pull a girl's hair at recess. The aggressor wants attention from the victim. Maybe if Edwards was, I don't know, soliciting gay prostitutes like many Republicans seem to do, I might take away something different from her comments.

The more outlandish she gets, the further she regresses into childish behavior. If Edwards gets the nomination, she will go on Hannity and Colmes to accuse him of having cooties.

John is pretty smart, so I suspect he already knows this. It would explain why he had Elizabeth call in to Hardball a few weeks ago to challenge Coulter on the air. Elizabeth wasn't "fighting his battles" as the MSM put it. God forbid the MSM get something wrong.

44. It's not who he is but what he says

Who he is, rich guy, trial lawyer, just makes him an easy shot. What he's saying, populists, anti- big business,is what makes him dangerous and the more stature he gains in the polls the more nasty the attacks will be, from all quarters. The whores for business in the Democratic Party must mind themselves around him lest they reveal their utter whoredom.

He does good service getting these real issues on the table. So what if his plan is inadequate(it is),the important thing is that people are talking, populists sentiments are being stirred. Can't speak for his sincerity one way or the other, but I appreciate his getting the word out.
