Poll question: Lighten up - rank the JK debate style

We've seen John on the stump and at the podium - what's YOUR view?
(We need a little humor today, so I've contributed as little as possible)

4. His style has worked to his advantage
Timing is everything. If this were 1992 Dean would be a great GE candidate. In 2004 people want stability and experience. Kerry has benefited from his contrast with Dean after the "scream" speech (I'm not putting HD down just a political observation). JK impresses people as a "serious" person and in this climate it is a good thing. In 2000 we "elected" a guy who youd want to have a beer with - this time around the criterion is different.

8. Yep---timing
I agree, people are looking for seriousness right now. Kerry is downright stern when he mentions Bush, and I think that is the key to his appeal.
It doesn't hurt to have a face like a $20 bill either. He looks very presidential :)

9. Ya think?

I think he looks like Stan Laurel.

I really do.

But, Stan would make a good president, too. :)

11. I sure hope people don't want stability
Because when people want stability, incumbents get re-elected.

We Need Rapid Change Now, IMHO.

12. A stable change?
I think people are coming to the conclusion that the current adminstration is a failure in every way - but 9/11 is a scar that won't go away any time soon. Kerry is a safe change. It may not be enuf for some here - but it's as much of a change as most Americans will go for right now.

5. I wish Al had been as animated in 2000 as he is now.
Of course, I wish I had been more animated in 2000....didn't realize how bad Bush really was back then. Voted for Al, but I actually thought everything would be all right. Everything has SUCKED since this guy was elected. Time for some fresh air!

6. Disagree
I think Kerry is slightly more animated. He's also better at talking one on one with people (if you watch C-Span).

But he ALWAYS seems like he's posing.

3. He needs to show much more compassion
I was very troubled by his reply to the question about feeling any responsibility for the deaths of 500+ in Iraq.

JRE said, "Of course" - that is what Kerry should have said.

10. His speechmaking is quite declamitory
Reminds me of Ted Kennedy, or maybe a bit like FDR. Anyway, it is pretty old hat.
