Tell Bill O'reilly: STOP SMEARING GRASSROOTS PROGRESSIVES

TV and radio host Bill O'Reilly likes to take a few comments out of context and use them to smear broad groups of grassroots activists. But a look at the record shows he hosts plenty of guests on his own show who make comments that are way over the line.

Tell Bill O'Reilly to stop smearing grassroots progressives.

1. LOL poor Hillary doesn't get it...
Edited on Fri Jul-20-07 07:54 AM by MessiahRp
He will never stop and in fact is looking to anger progressives because he figures that's the only way he can pry them away from Keith to watch. It's the must-watch-a-car-crash theory in action. He figures if he says stuff so horrible about us that we'll have to click over to see what's saying and even if we are angry he just drew our rating number away from KO.

If anything, her attempt to get people to write him adds fuel to this fire because now he can go after her as well.

7. Bill O'Reilly was too busy attempting to make "Liberal" a dirty word
he never even knew Progressives were on the rise.

And since this "Liberal is a dirty word" campaign has been one of the RNCs strong talking points for years now - - their brainwashed lemmings don't even know what a "Progressive" is all about.

A wake-up call has been sounded.

The hate mongers on the right now realize that fast-tracking this new "Progressive is a dirty word" smear campaign is of utmost importance.

2. Excellent concept -- one destined for success!
God knows Bill O'Reilly is concerned about nothing but being fair, particularly grassroots progressives.

No doubt, he'll issue an apology this evening.

10. At least impeachment would do something POSITIVE for this country....
Even YOU have to agree with that!

Is convincing O'Reilly of ANYTHING going to keep one more person from dying in the Iraq occupation or exact any punishment for the crimes of this administration on the criminals in this administration? NO.

He seems to carry a lot of weight with them he could convince them to pressure Bush on Iraq. Any more comments?

8. William769, this thread is hysterical so far
Edited on Fri Jul-20-07 08:27 AM by wyldwolf
"Progressives," who normally wallow in outrage, who tirelessly pound out blog posts, who demand of each other that they "call their congressmen," who write letters to the editor, are telling a sitting US Senator and the current Democratic presidential frontrunner that she's "wasting her time" in calling out Bill O'Reilly.

Clinton's website gets loads more traffic than, say Keith Olberman has viewers. Is Olbermann wasting his time calling out O'Reilly?

Ponderous.

13. Your condescending, negative, and insulting verbage (and by "you" I mean MOST of you Hillary-ites)
tells me what a meaningless gesture this really is. She wants to "defend" us against the big, bad O'Reilly, but you use words like "hypocrite", and "wallow", and speak of "progressives" in nothing but dreisive terms.

YOU are the hypocrites for pushing your cnadidate's "agenda" when it isn't one you honor yourselves.

16. Coming from someone who just wrote a "condescending, negative, and insulting" OP
Edited on Fri Jul-20-07 08:48 AM by wyldwolf
"Progressives" will never learn. The bile they spew on a daily basis about Democrats, the DLC, Hillary, etc. isn't speaking "truth to power." It's petty, factually challenged "condescending, negative, and insulting."

18. Why is expressing a negative opinion of the DLC characterized as having a
"condescending, negative, and insulting" OP?

Why? You are slinging as much sh*t as you can pick up at the wall, just to see what sticks. That's not fair. You have your opinion and I have mine.

19. it's the hypocrisy
expressing a negative opinion of the DLC is perfectly fine. Saying it's righwing, Republican, etc. is insulting. Especially since the charge isn't based on anything measurable.

You are slinging as much sh*t as you can pick up at the wall, just to see what sticks.

For example???

"Progressives" are like that kid on the playground who constantly hits other kids. He's always shocked and dismayed when some other kid finally hits back.

Just a couple right there for ya.

Believe me, YOUR opinion of "Progressives" is as insulting to me as my opinion of the DLC is to you.

Get off my back and stop following me from thread to thread and BULLYING me and SPAMMING my opinions, and all will be well.

11. It is nothing but a gesture.
He doesn't care what we think. He doesn't care what she thinks. If she wants to CUMBAYA with "Progressive Grassroots Activists", she should resign from the DLC, stop triangulating the Party to the Right on issues that REALLY MATTER, and stop pandering to Corporate interests.

What is so hard to understand about that?

What issue has Hillary "triangulated right" on and how does she pander to corporate interests anymore than, say, Obama and Dean?

17. I think it is a good thing Sen. Clinton has said this

And I am certainly not a Hillary supporter or a "centrist" or whatever.

There is no possible way of knowing what Sen. Clinton's or anyone else's motives really are. And what difference does it make anyway?

One of the first rules of politics is to form alliances wherever you can when its not counterproductive to do so; including dining with the devil himself -- and I don't think Sen. Clinton is quite the devil.

20. he has to smear them, he can't debate them - it's his only comeback
next you'll be asking him to actually come up with cogent arguments and rational reasons that actually support the stuff he says.

Good luck with that.
