NBC Will Have No Hand in Promoting Fred Thompson, Even in Reruns
From Jossip:

NBC Will Have No Hand in Promoting Fred Thompson, Even in Reruns

If, and when, actor Fred Thompson ever gets around to formally announcing his Republican presidential bid, Dick Wolf is going to yank him. (What a mildly amusing sentence we just got to write.) Because of “equal time” laws, which force broadcast networks to give all candidates the same amount of airtime outside of news reports, the Law & Order exec producer says that after Sept. 1 he’ll pull all episodes featuring Thompson as District Attorney Arthur Branch. Ya know what that means? Lots more Vincent D’Onofrio!

Excellent news, IMHO.

1. Yeah, I got tired of hearing the right wing
talking points when Fred Thompson's character was on L/O.

If I wanted to watch a Republican infomercial I only need to go the nightly news.

5. Yeah, no shit.
I got REALLY tired of his lines ONLY being thinly dressed Repuke talking points, usually blaming the victim for their circumstance or faulting ANY government action.

Tiresome, contrived and frankly it really detracted from the show. The only thing he could have done to make it worse would have been to talk directly into the camera when delivering his 'The More You Know' moment of the day.

Thompson is an empty suit, an actor, a closet moderate.

3. No free advertising.
I'm really happy about this.

BTW, Fred gets to keep the $$$ he raises, even if he never actually declares his candidacy.

7. NBC plans to focus its energies on distorting the news.
