Generation Chickenhawk: the Unauthorized College Republican Convention Tour
On July 13, 2007, I visited Section 60 of Arlington National Cemetery, where the bodies of American soldiers killed in Iraq were freshly interred. Afterwards, I headed across the street to the Sheraton National Hotel, owned by right-wing Korean cult leader Sun Myung-Moon, to meet some of the war's most fervent supporters at the College Republican National Convention.

In conversations with at least twenty College Republicans about the war in Iraq, I listened as they lip-synched discredited cant about "fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here." Many of the young GOP cadres I met described the so-called "war on terror" as nothing less than the cause of their time.

Yet when I asked these College Republicans why they were not participating in this historical cause, they immediately went into contortions. Asthma. Bad knees from playing catcher in high school. "Medical reasons." "It's not for me." These were some of the excuses College Republicans offered for why they could not fight them "over there." Like the current Republican leaders who skipped out on Vietnam, the GOP's next generation would rather cheerlead from the sidelines for the war in Iraq while other, less privileged young men and women fight and die.

Along with videographer Thomas Shomaker, I captured a vivid portrait of the hypocritical mentality of the next generation of Republican leaders. See for yourself.

2. Kent Alexander is a tub of goo
That"hard core stuff they do" looks like it would be well served on his lardass.

One of the funny things about this very well done film is that they all already have military haircuts.

LOVE the bumpersticker.

4. While the young republicans seek their abramoff business degrees
future democratic leaders are in Iraq padding their resumes by getting shot at and wounded. In about 35 years the two groups will run head on with the chickenhawks attempting to swift boat those who proudly served. One could think that conservatives send their young to school to learn such shit.

5. It is always the same thing with these people...talk big, then cower when
it comes time to actually participate in some form of sacrifice.

These cowards complain about being "overtaxed", but spend hundreds of billions on military hardware; they complain about being Libs being unpatriotic, but they refuse to join up; they will not even donate a few hours of time to visit w/the wounded in Walter Reed or another VA facility.

They feel as if they don't have to sacrifice anything, after all, they are privileged...excuses abound. As long as others to do the fighting and support, they will always be their flapping their gums about how "patriotic" they are...They need to be forced into the service, put on the front lines and really get to know what staring death in the face is all about...I'm willing to wager, the tears would fill the desert and turn it into a paradise.

7. What a bunch of utter douchebags.
And the young men all look exactly alike, like cyborgs or something! This is what happens when people aren't taught to think for themselves.

12. For some reason
I also got the impression from the one with the kind of spikey hair standing next to the girl. He reminded me of the type person who reads a whine menu and acts like he knows what the hell he's reading but doesn't have the slightest clue. Actually so did the girl he was standing next to. A bunch of phonies trying to act like they're intelligent and sophisticated.

LOL.....Bunch of dorks..

8. This is both an inspiring production (like Michael Moore's) and
... it serves to document YEARS later when the son or daughter of lame brain Biff and Muffy wonder how mom and dad could cop this attitude, given their education, while the country spiraled ever downward...

  ... "Hey, they were fucking clueless!"

The guy who can't chew gum and talk at the same time made me glad I'm at work so I don't have easy access to a fire arm.

Good christ what a bunch of fucking dork losers.
