Trolling some of the lefty blogs...seeing a curious lack of outrage...
Edited on Fri Jul-13-07 10:24 AM by SaveElmer
Over the open mike thing from yesterday...

Wonder why that is?

On edit I guess I was too cryptic...the open mike conversation caught between Hillary and Edwards on the debates...

To me it sounds like a tempest in a teapot -- especially since the story is being pushed by ************** FOX NEWS **************

Quite frankly lefty blogs are right to spend thier outrage on Libby commutation, Harriet Miers No-Show, Latest Gonzo revelations. In my very humble opinion.

15. Ah, Edwards did it.
These were FOX News mics. You know that, right? So you think Edwards and FOX conspired to ensnare Hillary? --- After Murdoch thre her that glitzy fundraiser and everything? Novel.

But... it couldn't be that it was done to make Edwards look like he was in cahoots with Hillary? I'll have to think about that.

I'll get back to ya.

TC

19. Not what I said...
The controversy involves both Hillary and Edwards correct...in fact Edwards initiated the conversation...allegedly talking about limiting those invited to debate (though I am hearing they may have been talking about limiting the number of debates)...

In any case, since Edwards is clearly involved in what some perceive as an effort to eliminate some candidates from the debate, they are more silent than they would be if say Hillary and Biden had been caught talking about it...

In order to criticize Hillary on this score, they would have to acknowledge Edwards was equally involved...and that would involve criticizing their guy...so I think silence is the tactic they have adopted...

Either that, or outside DU where outrage is the name of the game, people just don't care...

13. And some people on DU fell for it hook, line and sinker.
Who knew they were so impressionable. The ones screaming the loudest though are the Obama supporters, and so they should if you look at a thread here about Obama which are in his own words, they are staying away from it with a 10 foot pole.

8. Sorry Bush admin is more outrage worthy.
1. not sure what Edwards and Clinton could do realistically -- if the others wanna come to debates, they will get to come

2. realistically in the end it is going to come down to Clinton Edwards and Obama

3. the source was Fox News, so who knows if there is really any "there" there to foxes report.

Lefty blog outrage best saved for

Bush
The republicans who are still covering for bush with thier votes and coordinated talking points. Have you watched any of the House and Senate hearings on commutation, gonzo etc? It is appauling how the REpubs have circled the wagons around Baby Bush.

9. I donated money to Biden, Kucinich, Gravel and Dodd as a protest
I'm not even a big fan of Gravel or Biden, but they got $25 from me and an email saying they should stay in the race, if even until the first votes cast in Iowa.

Oddly, what was said is nothing new in politics. We all just believe in the best charade fed to us over the pixelled world we keep returning to.

Still, it is democracy with all its zits and yellowed teeth...

12. Such a conversation overheard from Clinton and Obama
("Clobama" as they have become known on DU) would have drawn the very wrath of God.

17. I think some of the outrage is feigned.
Edited on Fri Jul-13-07 10:38 AM by jsamuel
Some are upset because they are concerned that their candidate might get kicked out.

I can understand being upset about that.

Some are upset at every candidate not having the same opportunities.

But these people ignore that there are more Democrats running for president than the 8 on stage. No one has been outraged that they aren't allowed on stage.

However, I just don't see how Gravel should be allowed up there come Fall. Gravel gets up there and just bashes the whole stage. He isn't even campaigning, just showing up for debates. His campaign ad consists of him staring into the camera and throwing a rock into a pond.
