This whole thing has been such a failure because it is too long.
I say failure, because Nothing was delivered. Yes it was beneficial and it did damage, but nobody was held accountable.
The reason is because it was about "Revealed the identity of CIA Agent and blah blah blah"
The "blah blah blah" was the real meat of the issue, like a big lie hidden right in plain sight. It was that "they who claimed to be protecting us sabotaged the operation to keep us safe from WMDs." Or "they want to now attack the same people who they empowered by sabotaging our defenses."
They sabotaged us. But instead it all became something else that people didn't care enough about. Like Iran Contra, it slid by because there were too many parts to turn it into sound bytes. All the crimes are slid by in the complexity and the fact that 90% can't really get something with more than one main detail. They just get "he lied for his country" to wrap it allup nicely. Ollie and Scootie - same fall guy / hero.
"They attacked us" they get. But "This happened, which led to that, which means this"... - you've already lost most people...
I hate that this crime went unpunished and largely unrecognized.
Democrats - figure out how to reduce your message to three words or less.
