Kucinich still on the trail, still full of hope

Despite trailing badly in primaries so far, Democratic candidate has faith that he can turn this race around

By MEG KISSINGER
Feb. 14, 2004

Green Bay - Dennis Kucinich is up on stage, his eyes closed, his arms outstretched, twirling slowly.

Don't laugh.

"I'll need quiet for this," he tells the crowd. "It takes concentration."

They oblige for a time, until someone in the second row figures out what the hippodrome is about and shouts it out.

"He's got no strings attached!" the man yells while the crowd cheers.

1. Fear ends, hope is ALIVE
Dennis all the way to BOSTON!!!!!

March 16th, I'm going to VOTE for someone for a change, not against someone. Brings a tear to my eye just pondering it. :hug:

No strings Dennis, :yourock: !!!!

2. I saw him do that
last night before they had technical difficulties. It set up a cheer in my household. I will caucus hard for him on March and will not be swayed elsewhere we are finally getting organized. DK to Boston.

The least we can do is be tenacious right along with him!

4. Dennis keeps hope alive. See you in Boston!
"Write this down," he tells reporters swarming around him. "By the time I go into Boston, the war will be the defining issue, and I will be the only candidate who can say that I voted against the war. I'm the only one who voted against the Patriot Act, and I'm the only one with a plan to bring our troops home."

<snip>

"I don't know what that is, to be discouraged," he said. "I've never once woken up and been discouraged."

<snip>

They cheered as he shouted that it was wrong for America to go to war in Iraq. They shouted when he said he would repeal the North American Free Trade Agreement, and they jumped to their feet when he promised to take on the health care industry because "people can't be a cash crop for insurance companies anymore."

<snip>

"See you in Boston," Kucinich shouted and drove off.

5. Fear Ends - Hope Begins! Vote Kucinich '04!!
Time for another donation for Dennis J. Kucinich, the only REAL Democrat running for president!

When I read things like the following, I know we are on the right path! :D

<<For Paul Flietner, 47, of Hilbert, all the other candidates just blur together.

"They are Bush-lite," he said. "With this guy, we get someone who votes his conscience, not what special interests want to hear."

Kucinich waved goodbye to the crowd. <<His press secretary headed toward the waiting car, quoting Gandhi.>> *WillPitt*! :D

A teenager with buttons all over his body, gives the thumbs up.>>

6. good article on WP "Kucinich Reaches Out to the Neglected"
It was 7 p.m., well into the killing hours at the Sunnydale Housing Project. Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich (Ohio) had been whisked in the back of a van to the project's deadliest corner, the boundary between two warring gangs that police believe are responsible for eight or nine murders in the city so far this year.

11. Except Mr. Pitt never
said Dean should drop out. He said the media coverage would get ugly if he loses Wisconsin and chooses not to drop out. The confusion is yours and yours alone.

17. If Kucinich can stay in and still afford to pay Pitt, then Dean should
stay in on a "shoe string," also. Surely there's someone else who will work for less than Trippi...maybe another young aspiring writer?

Does Pitt have a rival out there? :D

9. Here's a picture of "The Twirl" (at UC Berkeley on Friday)

I was out there in that crowd. Dennis' speech was thrilling. He asked the crowd, "Tell me in one word: what was the real reason we went into Iraq!" Unprompted & without a moment's hesitation, everyone yelled, "OIL!" And he said - "I can't hear you! Tell me again!" And everyone yelled "OIL" again.

Have any of the other candidates even mentioned the word "oil" yet -- as in the "radical" concept: "One of the main reasons for invading Iraq was OIL"? No, they haven't. Isn't that nice? If DK is not the nominee, the Democrats are going to "challenge" Bush with someone who won't even dare speak the name of this elementary truth.
