So, Moby is encouraging web users to slander *?
Or is he encouraging people to spread the truth?

Punk the prez?

Moby's anti-Bush tricks

One of Sen. John Kerry's celebrity supporters is ready to pull out all the stops to get him elected. Republicans are shrieking over a suggestion by rocker Moby that Democrats spread gossip about President Bush on the Internet.
"No one's talking about how to keep the other side home on Election Day," Moby tells us. "It's a lot easier than you think and it doesn't cost that much. This election can be won by 200,000 votes."

Moby suggests that it's possible to seed doubt among Bush's far-right supporters on the Web.

"You target his natural constituencies," says the Grammy-nominated techno-wizard. "For example, you can go on all the pro-life chat rooms and say you're an outraged right-wing voter and that you know that George Bush drove an ex-girlfriend to an abortion clinic and paid for her to get an abortion.

9. I feel compelled to officially frown upon such questionable tactics
but meanwhile I'm laughing my @ss off.

What, we're Johnnie Two Goodshoes?

Yarright. After what they did with Max Clelland, Bush deserves to be creamed with an extra serving and a doubleplus good heaping topping.

Good guys? My ass. They need to be burnt so bad that they'll reflexively slap themselves, next time a Rove or whatever comes up with an idea like that, ever again.

I'm all for pulling all stops out. Ha!

But I'm still officially frowning - of course.

12. this is what Moby's had to say about this
2/13
in a recent reuters article i was accused by the head of the republican national committee as being a 'kerry operative' trying to spearhead a dirty-tricks campaign against republicans.
i need to say very clearly that nothing could be further from the truth.
i have great respect for senator kerry and i would like nothing more than to see him elected as president in november of 2004. but i do not work for the kerry campaign and i'm not involved in spearheading any dirty-tricks campaign against republicans or the right-wing.
it is worth remembering, though, that the rnc have been behind some vicious 'dirty-tricks' campaigns against democrats(and even republicans, such as senator mccain in south carolina).
and it's also worth remembering that george bush's presidency has been so disastrous for this country that defeating him will only require telling the truth about what he and his administration have done during the last 3 years($1 trillion dollar deficit, 3 million lost jobs, the alienation of all of our allies, lies about reasons for waging war, sending american jobs overseas, billions of dollars in contracts for halliburton in the middle-east, and so on).
but i need to reiterate that although i admire and support senator kerry i do not work for his campaign and i'm not involved in any 'dirty-tricks' campaigns against republicans or the right-wing in america.
thank you,
moby

in today's daily news there was a piece wherein i was supposedly talking about 'dirty tricks' aimed at keeping right-wing voters home on election day.
i just want to say, very clearly, that i don't support the suppression of anyone's constitutionally guaranteed right to vote.
what i meant in my statement was that george w. bush is actually quite weak on a lot of core right-wing issues.
for example:
a-he apparently paid for an ex-girlfriend to have an abortion(this isn't completely verifiable because president bush refuses to open his records. if he opens his records we'll be able to know a lot of things about his prior history.)
b-he has been arrested for drunk driving and cocaine posession(see previous caveat).
c-he went awol from his military service(see previous caveat).
d-he has invited the un to involve itself in america's foreign policy.
e-he has created the largest federal deficit in the history of the united states.
f-he has provided federal money for companies who actively close american factories and plants and send jobs overseas.
g-he has proposed amnesty for illegal aliens.
h-he approved funding for the taliban in early 2001.
i-he allowed a saudi private plane to remove members of the bin-laden family from the u.s. after september 11th when u.s airspace was shut down.
and so on.
i'm just pointing out that there are many core right-wing issues that are at odds with george bush's history and policy initiatives.
that's it.
thanks for listening,
moby

20. Sounds like Moby is borrowing a page
from the freeper handbook.

However, I really don't see what is so wrong about what he supposedly suggested. I mean when did it become a crime to post the truth on internet chatrooms, whether or not the site is pro Bush or anti Bush?

24. Even better
Just give the Repugs enough rope to hang themselves.

As I've said many times before, the best candidate to beat Bush is Bush himself. He is a flawed candidate that is even driving away his own base. Give him time, and he'll alienate everyone.

Soon, everyone will see through the bullshit.

And, if we were to actually slander him, there certainly wouldn't be a whole lot that would have to be 'made up'.

Call me evil, but I hope and pray that the Bush abortion rumor turns out to have legs because if there's proof... I'll scream it from the rooftops.

We played nice in 2000. We didn't go with the AWOL story. We didn't go with anything. And we lost. Not fair and square, but the ending's the same.

Not this time.

No more Mr. Nice Democrat.
